Yeah this is 100x better. What they are wearing today sucks. Sorry. Looks like a pinkish red logo with a darker medium red border on the bird. Looks very tiny and gives off major "Walmart/HyVee" vibe. Disappointing.

A Cardinal bird has a black mask. The dark Navy was selected to prevent having "black" become a core color. Tertiary navy blue - when used correctly - was awesome. I absolutely loved it's use from 1995 - ~2002. When we transitioned to Nike, it became total dogsh*t, as Nike didn't have a dark Navy color, so it turned into half ass blue.
Now that we're OK with black - just have Cy have a black mask, like the actual bird does. The Cy In A Blender version we used today (where we have a bright red Cy with a darker shaded red facemask and outline) is, by far, the worst iteration of that logo. If they do it again, please let it be made correctly...
For a comparison - Maryland nowadays in some ways does a great job today of blending red/yellow/black into various uniform designs.
Yeah, it wouldn't bother me if all of those were retired. Permaently.
Toilet-Cy isn't horrible for limited use, such as helmet "award stickers" and ... maybe some other novelty use.
It seems the young kids like this as a throwback. I don’t but I was around for the original. I see them wearing it after stepping out of Goodwill, like they do mom jeans.
Can always depend on larson for a few dozen dumbs every year. Dude just isn’t living a happy life.

Judging by most of the responses in this thread I think most would agree your take there is pretty dumb. Its definitely not "one of the worst ever"
