I'm looking for a new (free) weather app for android. I used "Storm radar" for years but a recent update has essentially ruined it. What's everyone using?

I use the built-in weather App on Android to get the day/week forecast. Then I use MyRadar for (obviously) a radar. It's free, but worth a couple bucks to get rid of ads and get advanced features.

is there one that is basically the National Weather Service? I've used Accuweather but after seeing a John Oliver piece on them I'd like to use something else.

There are some great people working there but yeah their management is VERY anti NWS and pro privatization. The NWS has tried for a long time to make an app but AccuWeather always successfully lobbies against it saying they would be infringing on the private sector.

For radar data RadarScope is the best IMO and then I use Weather Underground for forecast data and whatnot. They are owned by The Weather Company which is an IBM subsidiary.

RadarScope. Hands down the best radar app out there.

This. If you are looking for a "radar" app, and not more of a general weather app, RadarScope is the way to go.

Locally, for me, NBCDFW puts their S-band radar data on their app, which is nice.
