WBB: Updates on the high school seasons for current signees/verbals

Maybe old news...

Trying to catch a few game replays, I found the Pleasant Valley-City High Game held some interest. With commit Kelsey (#10 Black) being foremost for City High as the main reason.

But, I found more. I confirmed Hallie Vice (#12 White) is a nice tall guard (6'1") with good passing, 3-point consistency, and all-around play. Joens and Vice often were matched up. I have to say Vice seemed as much Ashley-like as Kelsey. With 50 seconds remaining, two Hallie Vice free throws secured the PV win.

It was a close game, though not overly eventful, other than at times being a 3-fest with the final being No. 4 Pleasant Valley 52, No. 5 Iowa City High 47. Pleasant Valley went on to lose to Tourney 5A Champ No. 1 Johnston (taking out No. 6 Waterloo West 51-31).

Notes:

- Seeing Courtney Joens finishing her Coaching Certification at City High and having her own Coaching Academy leads to interesting possibilities.

- City High's Nebraska-Omaha commit Eviyon Richardson is a talented rebounder (11) but had a bad shooting night (7-30).

-Kenya Earl, is former U of Iowa basketball star's daughter for City High, did play some.

Is their mom one of their coaches? I honestly don’t know.

Lisa is at home a coach. Lisa Joens also played for Oelwein in the state tournament in the early 90s. But, I don't think a coach at any H.S. If you watch the game link at the 12-minute mark Courtney is introduced as an "assistant coach."

Now the main thing is to deal with admission further and personal statement, for this there are services such as https://essays.edubirdie.com/personal-statement-writing for help in writing. And then your career will go on.

Is there any recent news about Courtney Joens and her coaching certification, because I somehow missed those points.

C Joens is now the HC at W Liberty.

Kelsey was given an immediately eligible transfer by the IC Board of Education to transfer to W Liberty and be immediately eligible.

Small clarification: Joens is the coach at Liberty High School in North Liberty not West Liberty
