WBB Recruiting continued...

I saw her in the summer league last year and thought she may develop into a Big 12 post.

That is two big post players that UNI has brought in. They could be tough in the upcoming seasons.

I will put our posts up against just about anyone over the next few years. At this point, I am more concerned about our depth at guard.

Am I the only one surprised we didn't hear anything on new recruits yet this spring? Are the women not on the same signing schedule as men?

From coach Fennelly's twitter from the AAU tourney games:

"evaluating this weekend-but how do you know who will be TRULY committed through the good and the bad times??THAT is what is needed the most"

I am sure that is a question all coaches would pay dearly for....especially Coach Mac right now.

That probably eliminates over half the players.

So the coach has the problem, do you go with the superstar who may or may not stick with you when times get tough or after they get a better oportunity. Or, do you go with a less talented kid who bleeds cardinal and gold and that you can take with you to the trenches in any war (ex. Amanda Nisleit) I would take 5 Nis's over 1 top ten superstar anyday.

Was BF talking about superstars here? I doubt it. He dearly wants superstars like Greeenfield and Stokes. That's why he was at the Windy City Classic this weekend.

We won't get Stokes. ISU isn't even on her top 25 list (HoopGurls). We should have a shot at Greenfield unless she doesn't want to play close to home. With all the players at the Classic I would think that BF has a view more in his sites than 2 including the non superstars.

That's fine, but BF is still recruiting Stokes heavily, and we are the heavy favorite for Greenfield.
Every coach has the superstars at the top of their list - that's how you get to the next level. Nisleit was a great story and is a great person, but she was a supporting player. You aren't going to win Big 12 titles with five Nisleits on the floor.

Top 25? I'm guessing that's a typo, although I'm not sure what you meant.

Hoopgurlz has 7 listed:

Kiah Stokes - College Basketball Recruiting 2011 - ESPN

Kiah Stokes, the 6-foot-3 post from Marion, Iowa, told ESPN HoopGurlz during the Boo Williams Invitational that she is considering Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Notre Dame, Purdue, Rutgers, Tennessee currently. The junior said she is still open in her recruitment.

That's not a good sign for ISU, but BF needs to continue to recruit her until she says no. She's a semi-local player, so recruiting her shouldn't take as much time and resources as other players might.
