WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Kansas has to be Minnesota's worst loss. They definitely are looking like a tough out for the tournament.

Minnesota has had a pretty solid year. Losing to ‘Bama, Maryland, Washington, UCLA, etc while also beating usc on the road. Solid resume.

On a given night they can all score. They came within 3 pts of having 7 gals in double figures last night. Shooting over 70% from three helped, of course. The gals have been playing together for a few years and they are pretty experienced at this point. They could do pretty well in March if they don't get hosed in the seeding. They are now NET #9. Should be 9-3 in Big Ten except for the infamous collapse to lose to Maryland when they had the game won.

Three blowouts in the Big 12 so far today.

Oklahoma State beat UCF by 23.

West Virginia beat Arizona by 19.

K-State ran away from BYU in the second half to win by 25. Wildcats scored 30 points off 19 Cougar turnovers. BYU went 1-14 from the field in the 3rd quarter, and that was basically that.

The only one that mattered in the end. The Big 12 is def an interesting conference.

It is coming off as a league of fluffed up resumes this season. Every time you think someone is pretty good they lose and if you think someone isn't maybe that great they win. Still, more teams with bad losses than good marquee wins. Polls will be interesting today. The team that looked like fake resume, TTU, is tied for 3rd and we, after a two week death spiral, are probably 5th after this week.

Do you think it is boring being a UConn WBB fan during conference season? They win nearly every game by 30+ points. The last time they lost a conference game was February 21st, 2023, nearly 3 years ago.

The only VERY MILD saving grace is some of the top teams have wins against some good non conference teams.

Baylor over Duke, close loss to Iowa, but shellacked by Texas (who isn't?)
WVU over Duke, close loss to Ohio State
TTech nothing to note in non-conf.
TCU win over NCState

All that being said...if you look at each of those games none really stand out as significant at all. There aren't any shiny coins to catch the committee's eye.

I would add our win vs. Iowa. We are not necessarily a "top" team in conference, but it is one of the conference's best wins.

During some of their best runs, their home attendance actually went down.

Its like the NDSU problem in football. You get so dominate that your fans want new challenges. The problem for UConn is there is nowhere up to go. Unless they join the WNBA. /s

KSU up on OSU and Kansas keeping it close with TTU. Potential to move up the standings.

Tons of fouls in Kansas @ TTU. So maybe our game against them wasn’t a fluke

Battle for 1st tonight. Will make a big diff in who stays in the three-way race for 1st. 6pm central......traveling so computer sets the zone I am in so graphic is wrong for Iowa peeps.

Big game for Baylor, can make a move to stay in the hunt and solidify maybe hosting in March. TCU needs to win to get back in the hunt to host. Unless someone shows something down the final stretch I am not convinced either is host worthy but the committee almost has to pick the 1st place team as a host.
