WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Those practices will be interesting. Well, I guess (assume) they have a guys practice squad they work with, since most colleges do these days.
Wow - they even don't have the pictures of the players in their roster page.

Good PR for WBB. Fox crew had a little three point contest versus Clark today. Guess they are going to air part of it in the pre-game.

Well, as if we didn't need anymore to hype the game in Iowa City. Both teams are picked to win their conference, both team's marque players are picked to be their leagues player-of-the-year.

As Johnny Orr would have said, this could turn out to be a "real humdinger".

I truly despise going to their arena, but I'm sort of tempted to go this yr.

I'd pass. Might be a sellout and it is on TV. This is going to be much see TV for WBB overall, not just fans in Iowa or fans of the two school. Like it or not, Clark is a one of the top faces of WBB and this a big chance for ISU to get some attention from the casual fans.

Man, I wish my hometown Gophers were not mired in the 2nd division of the Big 10. Would like to see something competitive when they play Iowa. :(

No one likes to go to the sinkhole not even Howk fans-

Well, they go even if they don't love the building. Iowa was #5 in WBB attendance last year. I know ISU fans like to diss everyone else's attendance but they out drew us in the NCAA again last year by 2X with sellouts for both of their games. If this CyHawk matchup isn't a sellout I will be a little surprised.

Are you talking tickets sold or actual butts in seats? I know two season ticket holders who go to every game and they say people are not there.

S. Carolina's #1 attendance for the season is something like 70% more than Iowa State's #2.

Well, not unexpected, but still a pretty sad update on Ava Jones, one of the Hawks 2023 recruits. Iowa is honoring her scholarship although she will never play again.

Same accident killed her dad and left her mother with serious brain injuries, both of them pictured with her in a commitment photo in the tweet update. :(

It gives you an idea of how serious her injuries were that it took until now to scan her knees. I figured a return was unlikely anyway, but this likely seals it. Here's hoping she (and her mom) can eventually recover to a relatively normal physical state.

I actually like Carver Hawkeye. Unlike Kinnick, I’ve never had a bad experience as a proud ISU alum at CHA. Convenient parking and easy to get in and out. EIU fans leave early so post-game traffic is not horrid.

I was under, apparently, the misapprehension Ayoka had had some procedure already and it wasn't fully effective. I couldn't find any indication that this is the case and that this surgery may be the first major medical effort to correct her woes.
Ayoka redshirted her freshman year due to a knee injury at the end of her high school career, I believe. I watched some of their first exhibition, they want to play quicker this year and look like ISU's offense with 3s and drives to the basket. They have 3 or 4 transfers with Gregory and another player from OU.
