WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Channel flipped into Iowa game versus Bowling Green. Of note is that Hawks starting post/forward Hannah Stuelke is not dressed for the game. Still out with a leg injury (I think). Was looking forward to seeing Audi Crooks play against a variety of Iowa bigs since they have an athletic one and a big body one. Thinking we might not see Stuelke at all.

Sharon Goodman, the big post, started and has a double-double.

Gophers managed to get by Drake in The Barn in two overtimes. Gophers Mara Braun played all 50 minutes.

9-0 looks good until you look at the schedule and realize you need a guide to figure out who many of the opponents are. Typical TTech scheduling.

Upcoming opponent North Dakota State is 3-4. They were pre-season picked for 2nd in the Summit League. Have lost to Creighton, Minnesota (by 20), Harvard and Toledo. Not sure what's going on with them, they have two Summit pre-season first teamers.

They play Drake on the 8th and us on the 10th in a schedule that saves money/time on travel but does them no favors with two games over that weekend. I won't be happy if I was their coach.

Both these games should be interesting - UConn struggling (by their standards) and Oregon has lost by 39 and 31 to Santa Clara and Portland.

Luck of the draw we only play Baylor and Texas once. Sort of Hawkeye MBB sort of luck.

Oregon is a shell of what it was in 2016-2020. The post Sabrina Ionescu era has not been kind to Oregon.

I’ve seen this story but I need some explanation. I understand why Sue Bird would be there. What’s the connection to Sudeikis? Is he friends with Bird? Somehow connected to Iowa WBB?

Or is this just a media campaign for whatever movie or show he’s plugging?
