Slow start but they really kicked it in during the 2nd quarter. Love to have some of the size that Southern had, they were athletic, but really struggled making shots. Most of their points in the first half were at the FT line, at one time they were shooting something like 18% from the field.
I did notice that they only played on tournament and one other game on their home floor until January, true road warriors, they have a West Coast trip next month that would be bear, UCLA, Arizona, Washington and Houston.

Listened to 2nd quarter after seeing a 14-14 game. Is the best we can get for play by play is Larry Morgan? My god is he a brutal listen.

Jada is such a huge addition to this team. With Addy struggling to score, that would have been a significant issue for the team last year. Jada’s ability to get her own shot is a real asset that will help this team this year. Harris looks more comfortable this year. I thought Audi’s effort on defense was a little better. AJ and Hare both seem a little rushed on the offense end. Both are capable of better offense. EP offers some unique skills to this team. I think it will be important for her to know her role and play to her strengths. Lots of potential. Excited to see us play against better competition.

It was a nice win though as a fan you really don't learn much in these games. It was nice to see everyone healthy.

One minor complaint about our game announcer last night. I wish he would have waited to announce Audi's 1500 points until after the Southern girl was helped off the floor.
It just seemed like bad timing fans cheering while there is a down player it was coincidental but I didn't like it.

Probably didn’t know it and, I say this because the announcer and I are good friends, he operates off of material handed to him to say at a given time. I’m guessing he didn’t notice what was happening at that moment.

I understood that the announcer also "has a person" to point out or tell him player names, numbers, etc. The daughter of a former supervisor had that job for a couple of years here. Of course, if that person isn't paying attention either, all bets are off.

I had many of these same thoughts last night. I think I said something in the TWS for the game. This happened last year against Baylor in the tournament and it sank us. With this lineup there are numerous players who can pick up that scoring. Jada has sped the ISU game up and it is easily noticeable. Paulk is who really caught my attention last night. She’s a special talent.
