***WBB 25-26 Record Watch***

I expected that record to last forever, barring a change in NCAA eligibility rules. But it's on track to last only four years.

Assuming...
  • ISU plays 12 more games this season (which assumes two postseason wins combined between conference tourney and NCAA/other postseason tournaments)
  • ISU plays 34 total games next season (which is the same total as my assumption for this season)
  • barring injury/transfer
  • Audi averages 25 ppg in those 46 games (which is actually a bit less than her average this season)
... Audi will score 1150 more points. That would break Ashley's record by around 100 points.
Amazing, considering to took Ashley 5 years to break / set that record and Audi will do it in 4. IIRC Ashley missed 1 career game due to covid and Audi missed one game due to concussion. I am not sure what post season games look like. I remember Ashley made a sweet 16 at least once.

And as you said, that record will only stand 4 years, look how long it took before Ashley took that record from Welle.

And to be very clear, Ashley is the undisputed scoring champ at the moment. She broke Welle's record prior to her extra COVID season -- 2369 points through four seasons. Once Audi passes 2369, Ashley gets an asterisk.

Yep...she broke the record on Feb 16, 2022. So she added points the rest of that season and the following (22-23) one.

That would leave her about 73 points shy of Griener all time big 12 mark

Did a little math on this today on twitter. Audi has a "guaranteed" 41 games left (regular season games + conf tourney + NCAA tourney), she'll need to average ~ 25.5 ppg to break Ashley's 5-year total in 4 seasons.

Audi is currently averaging 26.6 ppg this season. That would be a feat.

EDIT - I missed the very similar post on the previous page!

Updated with yesterday's game.
  • Audi is now 74 points from Carleton and 81 points from Welle to get up to #2 in career scoring. That's probably around 3 to 5 games. There are five regular season games left.
  • Audi is up to #9 in single-season scoring and #4 in single season FGM
  • Jada is #12 in single-season assists. She only needs 5 more to crack the top 10.
Small side note: I noticed the two "career" tables were missing the four new players in the "current players" sections. I've fixed that bug.

Def possible, with 7 games (three regular season, two tournament and two ncaa) and high level performances like we’ve been seeing that Williams could come out on top. Def #2.

Final update of the 25-26 season.

Notes:

  • Audi ended up 19 points away from breaking her own single-season scoring record, although she did break Ashley's single-season PPG mark.
  • Audi ended #3 in single-season FG%, breaking Welle's 24-year stranglehold on the top three spots.
