WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

Yes. When I could still peek into the old Rivals forum there was talk about her not liking something about the Hawk culture/staff. Hawks did good to get her old classmate.
Hok message boards had her signed, sealed and delivered bc of that old high school connection. Guess they’ll have to quick switch to “we didn’t want her anyway. She’s not that good.”

Iowa is too white for her. She was very much on the pro-Angel Reese side of things back in 2023. Iowa never had a chance with her after that. Going to LSU was a purposeful statement. Pretty crazy she and Journey were / are BFFs. They have a lot in common but wanted completely different cultures in a collegiate program.

If they did they were clueless. She was never going to go to Iowa. She's never been a fan of Clark or the Iowa culture. She'd have been a horrible fit. Very glad we got Journey, much better player for us.

Pretty much what I heard. If I had a draft choice between Journey Houston and Divine to add to our Cyclone roster I'd pick Houston 100 times out of 100.

"Whiteness" an issue for Bourrage? Iowa State's Emily Durr is currently one of six coaches on Ill, wbb staff under HC Shauna Green, where 2/6 of staff and 4/15 players his past season were Black.

If playing for Mulkey's LSU is a statement it more likely says she was a top recruit playing for a great coach and a successful program. Divine coming back to a Midwest program says LSU didn't fit her like 1,000s of other transfers. If she had issues with Iowa, so do I. I hope she does well at Illinois. which paid her and recruited her hard.

I'm talking about culture, POV, etc of the players. Don't be willfully ignorant.

A video went around in 2023 right before the LSU/Iowa game comparing the two programs "hype" routines. LSU was listening to (very explicit) gangsta rap. Iowa was listening to High School Musical. That kind of sums things up in a nutshell.

Bourrage is not the only player who would never look at Iowa (or Iowa State for that matter) because their overall culture just doesn't align with their background and the scene they're looking for. It's not a slight to her to say Iowa is too white -- it's too white for even many white people lmao.

Your words are open to interpretation by more than me, don't you think? I am ignorant of the video and the associated dustup. I wouldn't have a big problem with it as evidence of showing the difference in culture-which apparently was your aim. Bourrage could have ended up at Iowa state, or Iowa, if either satisfied her specific needs I believe.

Her alignment with Angel is natural. Though as an Iowa girl being impartial would have been good too. Divine was a teenager, making her way, and may change as she gets into life's experience. As for Angel she has had issues and likely had some rough stretches in her life and askew from Iowa culturally .

I wish the interactions of Reese/Clark was like Larry Bird and the NBA's best during their day. They look at the thrash talking, fondly now.

It's also the state of Iowa in general. She wanted to get out
