Much needed addition. Not a real tall post, but she was very skilled in the videos I watched. Paired with Bessette we have two skilled athletic front court players.

Seems to me, we could use one more 4 or 5. Someone with some height. And then I think they would likely be fine.
Looks like Addy "lite". Skills look good. We still need a post. Tjasa at the 4 looks like her best use.
That's my thought as well. If we have some front court injuries we could be in serious trouble.
What you are really saying is you don't know, but you speculate that they wanted out from under Audi's shadow. Let's look at some facts. Jada went from 12.7 pts/game at Arizona to 15.3 this year. She went from 2.9 to 7.7 assists per game. And held steady at 3.5 rebounds per game. Not the stats of someone playing "under Audi's shadow."
None of us really know why they left, but for Addy and Jada, better NIL money and a chance to win seem more plausable. Acadeemic reasons could have been driving Addy and of course, the chance to play under a different coach/game plan are plausable reasons as well. These are two very competitive women who also happen to be very good ballers, money and the chance to win are high on my bingo card. And if they want to win, they will be playing with other women who will get lots of media and fan attention. Big fish in a small sea or a small fish in a big sea. Addy never struck me as someone who wanted a lot of attention; Jada seemed to love it. But I bet both women would give their eye teeth to be on a team that wins their conference and goes deep in the tournament.
Also added Lijirin Doyinsola Modesayor, but if you told me today that someone on the verballed ISU, Mata would be my first guess.
Because multiple coaches and the official ISU WBB account all started following Mata today.
I mean of course it's speculation because none of the players are just going to come out and say it but I think the money excuse is not totally THE reason. It definitely is a factor but the desire to play in a better run system, both offensively and defensively is enticing.
All the traditional reasons still apply:
- Homesick
- Playing Time
- Not Happy with School/Community
- Conflict with Coach
- Coach's System Doesn't Maximize Players Skills
- Not Clicking Personally with Teammates
- Players like Crooks, Brown and Williams can make serious money and there's a chance there's a school out there that will pay crazy money compared to what their existing school is paying.
- Players hear what other players are making (or rumored) around the country. That applies to starters, but also key bench players. Especially if they feel blocked and want to start and get starter pay at their next school.
- Young players want to get on the starting player gravy train ASAP. So young players will be less willing to be that valued backup for multiple years.
- Money is a measuring stick. If players feel their $ aren't commensurate based on what teammates are making, they will feel slighted and look elsewhere. After all, these are 20ish year olds.
And NONE of them are going to come right out and say, "I left for the $$$". So you will hear various other reasons that may have contributed but my guess is any that went to a P5 school made 2 - 3 times or more what they made this season at ISU.
