Walking Dead

The whole terminus thing is not in the comics. It's actually a ton like the novel/movie "The Road" though.

the only thing remotely like the comic plot right now is the preacher who they just came upon, and Eugene/army type guys. Some characters who die on tv are major players way past in comics and vice versa.

The terminus part wasnt i. The comic but the group did run into a group of cannibals at the time they found the preacher. It was Dale who was captured initially. If it plays out the same way as the comic minus the same characters, watch out because **** gets dark.

Roasting and eating someone's leg in front of them isn't dark???

In one scene, in the dark woods they showed a shadow walk by.

Yes they only showed that scene. But from what Gareth said, they are hunters now, and I think it's a logical jump to assume they stalked the group for a bit to figure out weaknesses and wait for the right moment to abduct someone.

Just from the logistics of taking Bob, they had to have been watching the group for awhile that night. Lots of opportunity to hear the names of many group members.

Didn't Gareth and the people of Terminus invite Rick's group in, nicely confiscate their weapons and then have them sign in on a book? Wouldn't that be how they know their names.

Don't confuse Gareth with the awesome Jareth, Goblin King:

Gareth called Bob by name when he was at the bleeding out trough at Terminus.

As to the darkness of the show, after Lizzie and Mika, I think I'm prepared for anything else.

Great now every episode I'm gonna be expecting David Bowie to show up and kidnap Judith.

Carl will fight his way beyond the Labyrinth to the Goblin City.

Carl could possibly be even more whiny and obnoxious than a young Jennifer Connelly and we know he's better eye candy for sure.

So it sounds like this idea likely came from the video game. I haven't seen any of this season yet, but it sounds strikingly similar to the farm scene in the game.

It is a comic arc....all I am going to say.

I don't think there is a chance that Bob knew Gareth or was with the Terminus people at one point. None of Bob's actions would make sense if that were the case. I think Gareth knew Bob's name because they'd been hunting them, for at least one full day. Remember Daryl felt someone watching him the night before they found the preacher. If the cannibals were stalking the group from a distance there would be lots of opportunity to catch a name.

Gareth said Bob's name at Terminus while Bob was trying to talk them out of slashing his throat.

People referring to Gareth as a predator got me thinking. What if a certain somebody was still around after all this crap went down.

Yep. The governors arc was cake compared to the comic.

I imagine the writers and producers have to dull down the tv series compared to the comic books. They can be dark in the comic books because you can (sort of) control the audience age by not allowing someone under 17-18 years old to purchase it. If your show is on every cable/satellite provider you could have 10-12 year olds watching and I doubt AMC will want very dark stuff on their program.

I guess I am missing why people are surprised they knew Bob's name? They probably just talked to him and got his name when they came to Terminus, before they locked them up.

If you watch the ending again ( I did to try to see bite marks on Bob's leg, I did not ) , The actor who plays Gareth sounded a lot like Heath Ledger's joker in the delivery of the lines
