I'm watching the ISU-NEB match on the internet, can anyone tell me why we have a player with a white uniform on when the rest of the team is wearing red?

The player with a different color Jersey is a setter or something like that. I think they don't have to rotate like all the other players have to do or something like that. I don't really know, but I thought I'd give you a somewhat educated or a completely uneducated guess.

All I know is they are usually the ones setting the ball for the rest of the team, and they are usually much shorter.

Nebraska is one hell of a program. The coach for ISU has done an absolutely tremendous job to get the girls where they are today. We always mention the dogdays of football. Well, there were dogdays of VB also. We were manhandled by Neb in VB in the past, in similar respects to football. Never happy with losing, but I was quite satisfied in the way the ladies played. Program is moving up.

Go out and enjoy a match - there is more than WBB.

From the scoring, I'd say we competed well. I'd like to have a report from someone who was there.

I've watched this team for nearly every home match the entire year, and this was probably the best I've seen them play. The Clones came back from a huge defecit in the third match to make it a dead heat nearly to the wire, and the Clones went down fighting hard in the fourth match. They could have come out on top in either one. In the end, it just got down to Nebraska simply being (as of now) the best Volleyball team in the country. They've got a couple great players (I'm 6'0", and their #9 probably had 3-4 inches on me, she scored somewhere over 20 kills)

Great match, great effort. Team's getting better, that's all you can ask for

Nebraska was too much for our Lady Cyclone's tonight. They played the #1 team in the nation very tough and even won one game, which isn't too bad. They played Nebraska tough all match long.

After being tied 1-1, and Nebraska leading throughout the 3rd game at one point by 23-18, ISU stormed back to take a one point lead at 27-26, only to stumble and lose the last four points to end that game. That was the turning point in the match, IMO. Had we won that game, it would have been 2-1 ISU, with us only needing 1 out of the last 2 games to take the match. The final score of 3-1 doesn't do our team justice as to how well they actually played.

Nice job ladies!

I'm going to guess the press conference hurt attendance numbers, cstrunk?

Possibly. I'm not sure how many people were there, but it wasn't close to beating the attendance record for volleyball. Not a bad crowd, decent amount of Huskers though. :angry6wn:

I was really proud of our gals. They put up one HELL of a fight against the Huskers. We were supposed to get destroyed tonight, but Nebraska had to struggle to leave with a win.

We were almost ranked before this; we NEED to be ranked after this. We were breathing down the necks of the #1 for the entire night (except for the first part of Game 4, where we seemed to lose some focus).

The Huskers figured out in Game 2 that our weakness was at our left net corner, and they exploited that for a while. I was a bit disappointed at how long it took us to notice that and fix it. Nevertheless, we played a hell of a game tonight. The last two games literally had people on the edge of their seats. (I was one of them.) They've got another home game next Wednesday night; I'll definitely be there, and I would encourage you all to do the same. It's a great family environment, it's cheap, and it's unbelievably entertaining. I would even go so far as to say that it's more entertaining than basketball, though I'm sure many will argue against that.

On a side note- Hilton looks fantastic on the inside! It's like a brand new arena. We're really in the modern age now, what with a scoreboard that actually tells the score and everything! But seriously, the new displays are awesome. My friend will vouch for me- I couldn't contain myself when I walked in and saw the ring beam thingie doing its tricks. I love it!
