Vegas Trip

We are planning on road tripping to the UNLV game on September 18, 2021. Fly in on Friday, Game Saturday, Tour Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon and area for a few days, drive to San Diego and stay a week and then fly back to SW Iowa. We have never been to Vegas or the area but have been to SD several times. Any suggestions? Should we get a complete Vegas fly & stay package deal or book separately? Any thing on the Strip that stands out? Not in to gambling particularly but shows/acts would work. Appreciate any suggestions.

I was thinking about going too, but I was going to drive. Probably a big mistake, but it's cheaper than flying and renting a vehicle once you get there. My biggest fear is driving in a big city. But that's lessened somewhat by GPS and once I get there, I can always call a cab if I don't feel like driving.

Depending on how many you have going flying might be cheaper. Flights from the Midwest to Vegas aren't bad, airport is right by the Strip so Ubers are cheap. Plus the wear and tear on your vehicle

Looks like on Expedia for flights and hotels from Leaving Thursday and coming back Sunday is around $1,100-$1.200 for 2 people.

I wouldn't have any clue how to call an Uber. I just got a new vehicle and as little as I'm driving nowadays, it'll probably have less than 2,000 miles on it by the time September rolls around. I've had it a month and a half now and have only put 194 miles on it.

Download the uber app to your phone you won't regret it.

Heart Attack Grill? This guy started in Chandler, AZ and makes no bones about his food. 10,000 calorie burger

Last time I was in Vegas they had to call an ambulance for a guy at that restaurant. younger guy too, and not terribly obese. I have zero desire to ever go there, so many better options.

Cosmo is the best hotel on the strip, and it's not even close. But man has it gotten pricey.
Best hotel on the strip for ~ $300 a night isn't that pricey. IMO not the best place on the strip but that's another conversation.

Been 3 times but from the sounds of it you're planning on taking it in completely different than I have. Gambled a ton, drank a ton and bargained with randoms on the strip for deals on limo rides to strip clubs. Wandering up and down the strip is a trip in it of itself, Ceasars has a great sports book, Vdara is a great place to stay, New York New York is a maze. The Linq is good option for the price and there's an In and Out right around the corner that comes in handy.

For shows I would recommend looking into any Cirque du Soleil shows that are running.

If you're looking for a nice dinner, Andiamo is really good and not stupid expensive, probably $150ish for 2.

$150 not expensive???? Dang.

Can't leave out "stupid" before expensive. It's a treat yourself type of thing, I'm 29 and have spent that much on a meal once and it was there.
