I’m assuming they have private donors, but how in the world do these high school kids afford to travel every single weekend all over the country wrestling in these big tournaments? The Bo’s, Jax, Marcus Blaze, Lockett, Sinclair, Mirasola’s, PJ duke, etc. The list goes on. These kids have always been at every thing for years.

I’ve said it for years. High level wrestling is now an upper middle class and up sport. There is no doubt about it.

It’s not just the tournaments, but also the training. High level clubs aren’t cheap. These guys travel to camps and training sessions all over the country. Many even move their entire family across the country to go to a different high school or be close to PSU for example.

Blue collar guys can still have success, but most the vast majority of the blue chip are not that.

Some states allow high school athletes to have sponsorships or essentially NIL. Bo Bassett is a Rudis athlete, for example. I believe Jax is sponsored by Spartan Athlete. And probably private donations. I know for Fargo, a lot of kids do fundraisers to pay their way.
