Upcoming game against Cincinnati

Cincinnati looks like they could be a challenge, they have been beaten twice but by good teams. Florida St. one of them that has Bingley. When does she become eligible? She hasn't played so far this year, I checked.

Back to Cincinnati, they are probably going to be wanting a win pretty desperately. We need to be ready for that one. I don't think they are that great of a team, but might play especially hard on their own court, to get a win.

We should not take anyone on the schedule lightly this year. I think we went to Fort Worth last season not taking TCU seriously on their own court and it gave us a really bad loss for the selection committee to consider when seeding the NCAAs. That Cincinnati played FSU closely concerns me somewhat. If we show up ready to play, we should be fine.

It appears you're right. I checked the Central Michigan roster for Jess Schroll, and sure enough, she is not on it.

We are 13 ahead in the second half. Sounds like a fairly comfortable lead because Cincinnati is not that good offensively against us. I am hoping we get some other people going on offense. Sounds like it is mostly the upper class-women that are scoring.

Since I made my post, ISU has blown the game wide open and are ahead by thirty. Sounds like everyone is scoring pretty freely. It says Buckley has 12, Johnson 13. Sounds good.

So happy to see so much quality dribble penetration bt this squad 1-4. Jadda's best game so far, looking more comfy with the penetration. Clearly though ISU looks best when we have both her and Moody together.

It's a good sign, but the competition is going to get a lot tougher.

Isn't this a negative? Our assists go down but our points go up... Doesn't that mean more baskets are going un-assisted? So more one-on-one ball... which is not always a good thing

To me it depends on how we are scoring. If our guards are bringing the ball down the court and are able to drive past their defender and score I see no problem itmay even help our inside game as the defense may then try to have a second person step out to stop our guards. This should then leave someone wide open for a three.

This is a function of the make up of the team. Last year Nicki got a TON of assists throwing in to the block and Anna and Pop scoring.

I don't think it reflects anything negative. This team constantly is learning to play together. It will be a progression even until the end of the year. The coaches will try to help but it still is something that statistics can't do justice to. This year there are more people that can dish out assists, and therefore it takes some of the pressure away from Moody to create scoring opportunities. I think this years team is going to be very different from last years, but it remains to be seen whether that will be an improvement in record. There are too many factors and intangibles such as the difficulty of the competition which make it impossible to determine.
