Burkle stepped up bigly after the injury to Brahmer.
All the LBs scrambled to be a unit all season. Injuries were unfair to that position room. They were good enough for 11 wins.
Brahmer and Burkle may be almost as good as Kolar and Allen. Neither is as good as Kolar but Burkle maybe a bit better than Allen
Really impressed with how Burkle progressed as the year went on. Definitely can see us having a two headed monster at the TE position next season with a healthy Brahmer.Burkle stepped up bigly after the injury to Brahmer.

He lined up a WR at least once and then went in motion to lead block for a running play.Needed to be a TE number so he could switch sides if needed. That way he doesn’t have to report as eligible.
Also helps to hide the situation and not hold up everything when the player has to go report. He lined up a WR at least once and then went in motion to lead block for a running play.
Zach Lovett would do really well as a DE in a 4-3 with his hand on the ground. He's a gifted pass rusher and we need more of him next year doing that. I like him.I thought about dropping Zach Lovett in there. He didn’t do much this year, but he made some big plays yesterday
What I hear about the guy we picked up from UNI is that he would also fit in this category. I think he might come out of no where to be a really nice contributor.Zach Lovett would do really well as a DE in a 4-3 with his hand on the ground. Not to derail the thread too much, but what's up with Andrew Keller? I was so hyped when he committed. He hasn't transferred out for lack of playing time either. Thought he would be contributing by now.Looking at the TE picture Mouser posted, #87 Moore, looks a lot more like a tackle than a tight end.
From a receiving threat yes. From the ability to block, probably not.
That first TD catch by Burkle was NFL level. We have 2 TE studs going into next season.Burkle stepped up bigly after the injury to Brahmer.

Dylan Lee is going to have a say in the RB rotation.Kolar was a pretty special receiver even as a sophomore. But from a blocking standpoint, I don't recall either Kolar or Allen being really good as sophomores. Those teams had Dylan Soehner to be the run blocking TE. And he was a stud blocker!
I am not concerned Brahmer & Burkle aren't elite blocking TE's as sophomores. If they want to both start and have 12 personnel be our base package, they will both work their butts off over the next 8 months to get stronger, tougher and become better blockers from a technique standpoint.
Not only will those 2 face competition within the TE room. But also feel Mauser will be challenged next year to get Hanson and Sama on the field at the same time. And maybe that means at the expense of 2 TE sets vs. dropping to 1 true WR.
