Uniform Question

The good news for the black uniform hating crowd is CJR appears to be going for a samari sword clean cut off from the old regime. Like it's a limb with gangrene that must be removed before it spreads. Black uniforms was a CMC thing so it must be removed before it spreads.

Personally I couldn't care less what color our guys wear so long as they win. It'd be fine with me if they wore pants that are purple with pink polka dots, jerseys that are green and orange plaid, and a blue and brown stripped helmet. Just so long as they don't put the god awful I-State logo on them

I don't mind the blacks, but have to incorporate some cardinal and gold in them. Then, keep it to a game a year and do a blackout theme.
This is a good take and has a piecemeal history in implementation. 2016 introduced the gray ("anthracite") jerseys and pants with cardinal and gold number/trim. Then 2018 was the introduction of the first black helmet with cardinal and goal I State and the all black/grey look.

The combination of black helmet w/ cardinal & gold I State/ script Cyclones + black jerseys & pants with cardinal and gold number/trim be worth trying for 1 game/season.

Essentially combining/ tweaking the various pieces of these previous sets:

Assuming EIU still has the pink visitor locker room, it would be hilarious if ISU came out one time with pink UNIs against Iowa. Can you imagine being physically dominated by a team in pink? They would be dumbfounded.

Back when alternate uniforms and locker rooms were the only way the AD could "pay" the players it was ok to let the players choose but now that we're paying them let's just stick to cardinal and gold please... One black out game is fine but let's be honest it got out of control there for a couple years when we were wearing more black than cardinal. This last year it seems like even Campbell realized it and we went back to c&g for the most part.

When CJR was at SDSU they wore black uniforms. So I don't think CJR has anything against black uniforms. But as you said if he is trying to make a clean break from the prior coaching staff, then he could go with more gold uniforms like G,C,G at home and G,W,G on the road.

Black uniform at SDSU was usually a once a season thing too. I think he prefers the school colors most of the time. It will be interesting to see what uniform decisions are made.

As long as it’s the bugle logo on the helmet, right?

;)

Tear-away jerseys and no helmet logos. We are going back to the basics; smashmouth football. Let the Oregons and others wear their fancy outfits. (I feel like Cignetti probably has said a version of this, and he's doing alright)
