Although they played the Fordham Rams, UConn looked pretty dominant at home. ISU needs a close game with Iowa to gain some confidence going on the road. Anyone else have thoughts on UConn in comparison with ISU after Week 1?

You would have to think that UConn will be pretty solidly favored over the Cyclones. Of course, we'll learn a lot more about our chances against the Huskies this weekend by playing the Hawks.

I'm afraid that this year's schedule is too brutal for where we are at as a program. We are in a fragile, program-building stage with a young coach. CPR may very well be the right man for the job, but if you can't start to pick up momentum, you lose your luster as a coach.

I predict 3 wins this season, based on what I've seen and heard this weekend.

I just hope that Jantz looks at this came as getting his feet wet and comes in next Saturday knowing what to expect. I hope he studies his tapes really well and comes away as a better player and the confidence he had started gaining in the 4th quarter.

I wouldn't want to base any predictions off of what we saw last night...

People in the ISU vs Iowa prediction thread are saying 42-0 or 42-10...

How about if we just go ahead and beat Iowa decisively?

I was thinking that a better starting point might be comparing Fordham and UNI. Is Fordham ranked in the FCS?

for the 50th time, Iowa barely beat UNI two years ago and went on to win the orange bowl.... will we do that much no, but we can still have a good year, the important thing is we came through in the clutch

I think Fordham just moved up to FCS. If I heard it right, the guy on the broadcast says this is the 1st year they could give out scholarships. They also have not played a D1A program since they play Syracuse in 1954. Fordham has been 5-6 the last 3 years. Not sure that ther's much to gauge from that game.

UConn's punter had a 30 yard average on 5 kicks. Like to see that trend continue.

UConn next plays at Vandy on Saturday. That will be a much more appropriate measuring stick.

Fordman is the equivilant of ISU playing Drake last week. Not going to find out a lot about your team with that matchup unless your team really stinks.
