I would guess his number of snaps was pretty normal. Rocco carried the ball 20 times, that's going to limit how many times the backs carry it. Jaylon carried eight times yesterday and is otherwise averaging 10 carries per game on the year, not super-unusual.
He was in the last drive as well. Picked up some key blocks on the drive.

This game had zero business being won. However…this is what really good teams do. Every highly-ranked team has that game where there’s absolutely no reason they should have won. And they pull it out somehow.

We just had ours hopefully.

We need some good luck with health though as half our team is dead now.
As they say on The Solid Verbal podcast, “You have to win your clunkers.” (That is, games against less talented opponents where you just don’t play very well). Notable teams like Alabama, Tennessee and Norte Dame haven’t done that this season.

anyone else catch neals false start on the winning sneak? Home cookin babyyy
I've watched it I don't know how many times in slo mo and think its awfully close even in slow mo. Don't get me wrong, I think he did move early but I also think it was so close to the snap it wasn't egregious .

Haven't listened to Bruns or anything yet, but curious to know what UCF threw out there on defense scheme-wise.

Rocco using his legs was great, but he never really seemed comfortable in the pocket. They were getting pressure and he was struggling to find receivers.

At the same time, if he hits some of those passes, and Hansen stays in the game, who knows if that's even an issue.

Bruns said (paraphrasing) that UCF's defensive backs played very well and were allowed to be very physical, which took away a lot of Rocco's first reads to the receivers, and affected the sharpness of the routes.

Gutted out a huge win, but wow, whoever called that spike with 1:05 left to waste a down has some serious explaining to do.
Sometimes you just panic and do the wrong thing in the heat of the battle. I was ticked too, as 1:05 was more than enough time, but better to spike the ball than rush and turn the ball over or get a procedure penalty. It wasn't the worst error.

Next week, BYU plays UCF, and Indiana plays Washington. If BYU and Indiana win and go to 8-0, and there are no big upsets in the top 10, they may both jump over ISU.
Why in the world would that happen? They should continue to move up past all the blemished records, but as of now neither has wins that would justify that at all.

We going to see a lot of what ucf did moving forward if people have the horses to do it. Lots and lots of pressure on Rocco.

Clemson jumped ISU in the newest poll, they are at 9 and we are at 10 in both the AP and Media. If BYU is 11 in the AP, a victory by them next week over USF on the road will allow them to jump ISU.

Yeah pressure and lock down man to man. Mouser seemed pretty humble after the game knowing his offense was exposed a bit.

How is sound off who radio hosts and other hawkeye pundits digging on Iowa St not having a call in show? Are they not aware we have one on every ISU radio partner after the locker room show. I would argue that Iowa States is better due to being centralized, Iowa's are segregated on 2 radio stations and only available in certain regions?

Because he was getting crushed in the backfield on every carry? Hansen and Sama were better last night.
Ok cool I was just asking considering Sama had a carry prior to Jackson on multiple series so I highly doubt you’re correct.

On the dropped ball on UCF's last interception, why were they given the ball on the 1. Why not ISU ball on a touchback? I missed who recovered the ball, or if it went out of the back of the endzone.

I have a friend who is exactly the same way. He never lets me forget that he "cheers for Iowa State when they're not playing Iowa. I know you don't". But then he spends the entire game making snide remarks about Iowa State, Ames, the Big 12, our fans. He pouts when Iowa State wins. They "cheer for Iowa State" until we actually start winning. And if Iowa loses, it's nothing but backhanded remarks the rest of the day. **** em
You should get a different friend…
