It's always nice to be able to run a guy out there every 5 days and expect to get 220 innings and 15-20 wins in return. It's interesting to see that the Yankees made a run at him before he decided to remain with the Twins.

An added bonus is that the Twins now have 6 capable starters available. This not only provides a luxury in the event that someone needs some time off, but also provides a solid arm to the bullpen if everyone stays healthy.

Excellent. Can't gripe resigning a guy that gives the Twins an excellent chance to win every single time he takes the mound.

Now hopefully we can find that ace (or hopefully Liriano will finally develop into that role).

Good move by them, he was solid last year. I'll always be a big Pavano fan for all the excellent work he did playing for the NYY.

It's funny - Yankee fans are always going to hate Pavano because he "stole" millions of dollars from the Yankees (as if 'Brenner didn't hand out millions of dollars to just about any decent ball player willing to take it). They just don't seem see past the entitlement that not every single player is bound to succeed while wearing the pinstripes. But it is ironic that nobody is calling Randy Johnson a "money-grubbing thief"...

It is funny. I read an article on SI.com today talking about the Yankees actually re-approaching Pavano recently because their rotation is slim at best and there just isn't anything left. Apparently it didn't go well
