Unless you're cheering for France that literally makes no sense. That's like saying you want Ohio State to win because you want all the other teams - including your own - to have a more difficult time trying to win a championship.

In a sport in which I have no team in I cheer for the best team to win.

It's no different in college football or basketball, once ISU is eliminated I want the best team to win, not just a team that got hot in a tournament.

Mbappe showed that he is ok playing in the mud. Never had much of an opinion about the guy, but think today soured me on him a little bit.

**** Paraguay. So many dirty cheap shots and they go down when they're breathed on. Bunch of whiny ***holes. No yellows and 3 to France. BS. The only thing the ref got right was the penalty and that was only after VAR.

There will be a drop off from casual fans, but hopefully soccer added a few more fans domestically. It's important for the growth here in the States.

There will always be the "look at me" people that put a stupid amount of time into hating soccer and think they are funny with their comments. Nothing to really do about that segment of the population but ignore them.

This has been an amazing World Cup so far. So many matches have been decided late, and so many underdogs have put up amazing fights.

I hope this exposure puts the US into rotation for addition World Cups. Overall, the comments from visiting nations seem positive.
I like the shared formatting of having games in all of North America. Heck maybe rotate the championship between all 3 countries. But that's just my not so hot take.

But the U.S. hasn’t been eliminated yet.

Didn't we pay off that debt and then some with WWI and WWII?
He is going through his bag for his passport. The woman on passport control asks him 'Have you visited France before?'
'Yes' replied the old man.
Sarcastically she responds 'Well surely you should know to have your passport ready...' to which he answers 'I didn't have to show it last time'
Impossible!!' she bellowed.
The old man looks her straight in the eye and says 'Last time, when I landed on D Day in 1944, I couldn't find a *ucking Frenchman to give it to'
