Trey Scott tweet...

We need a group of top talent kids that meet each other through camps and stuff where one vocal and influential member thinks outside the box and says, "let's do something amazing by bringing unbelievable talent to a place that is a perennial bottom feeder and take them to relevance just to prove we can do it... how about Iowa State. Nobody would see it coming!"

Someone get on that. Thanks.

I would have used to see that and said no chance. But that's put him opposite Lazard in the 3rd largest stadium in the Big 12 with what has been outstanding fan support, a new football only facility, and last but not least. An offensive coordinator that has more than proved himself capable of putting up all kinds of points in the Big 12.

Imagine an offense run by Mangino with Lazard and Lodge on the field at the same time. Add that to a Wally Offense and you have the makings of something never seen at Iowa State.

With Mangino and the new stadium this kind of attention from top offensive talent might become a bit more common.

edit and fix please... first example is awkward and the second example is typically blamed on an alcohol

This sounds like the plot to the movie "Not Another Teen Movie"... let's get a girl with glasses and a ponytail to be the prom queen!

This. I do find it dumb when 3 and 4 star talent chooses a perennial power like Alabama, OU, or Texas and then end up riding the bench all four years, so far back in the depth chart behind other 5 and 4 star talents. Do they not look at how stacked some of those rosters are with quality freshmen before committing?

They could definitely come to ISU, play all 4 years in a power conference and get some national attention. Instead, they end up actually playing maybe 1 season of significant minutes (maybe). I think if you are a 3 star talent, you probably might want to consider a school where you can get playing time to showcase your skills rather than sit behind all the 4 and 5 star talent.

I would give anything to have a guy on our team named Ray Ray. It's kind of hard to not make it to a national championship with that guy on your team.

Find it weird we haven't offered this Cedar Hills receiver. I'm sure we have no shot at all, but if he's taking the time to visit, even if it's with friends, why not put the bait out there and hope for a bite, even a nibble, and try and reel him in? Maybe he's already pretty sold on a home-state school

Jeez you guys I was just pointing out that Lazard had a lot of offers too. I obviously know it was a different situation. But who knows, maybe there's something about ISU that this kid really likes. I prefer not to ever count out my team.
