Transfers In?

With all of these guys leaving, have we heard anything about players that are going to transfer in next season? I know transfer season isn't official until January 2, but have we heard of anyone wanting to join this squad for next year? We need mega help at every position other than kicker right now. Hoping we bring in a few gems and can piece together more than 3 wins.

Don't think you'll hear much before the Jan 2nd start date. Not like we've heard definitively that anyone is going to Penn State yet, either (though it's obviously likely).

I would hope the 10-14 best players on Washington State's roster who aren't seniors would be mighty interested in joining ISU. We could use them.

- I feel we should be allocating a heavy amnt of dollars to D line guys who have shown promise: Alijah Carnell, Zamir Hawk is a STUD, Jace Gilbert flashed in some games this year
- Next I'd like to see us retain some key offensive linemen (who they could be working out deals right now). Garret Rutledge, Brendan Black, Austin Barrett comes to mind. Let's retain a few starters there too.

I would imagine premium board has some rumors, but we haven't heard anything concrete about our transfers out so I am not too worried about who is coming in.

Yes, but mostly just because there are more keeping an eye on Twitter/X. There have been a few nuggets on players, some have come to fruition and others not. There have also been a few nuggets on players who are likely staying that are not out publicly anywhere yet.
 
Going to make for an interesting spring training. Guess it'll been workouts and intro to new coach and schemes but not much full scrimmage time, just won't have enough players till next fall.

Isn't the current timing of the portal so that players can be here for second semester?

Yes, there will be WSU players coming along. This especially the case for defense as bringing player that already have been in the system and can help current roster guys will be a big help. Offensively, the RB is probably coming and I'd imagine their TE and maybe a WR or two...they Iowa State isn't running the same offense as WSU did this past year. I got to wonder what is happening to all the offensive coaches for WSU? Also has Eli Rasheed been announced at PSU? And given our CB success this past year, I'm surprised the DB coach didn't get a ticket to State College as well.

Wouldn’t any announcement be admitting tampering at this point?

I think so, yes. It's probably why all of these guys are saying "entering the portal" and not mentioning Penn State even though it's well documented where they are going.

I had heard from a very reliable source (not on premium board, but on my own) a list of about 10 guys that were going to be leaving and following Matt to Happy Valley. All but one has announced their intention to enter the portal. Will see what happens next week, but would not be surprised if nearly all of them end up at Penn State.

They are surely being advised on what to say and what not to say.

Premium board is a mixed bag. There are some good nuggests on there, but also a lot of speculation. Some posters are clearly plugged into the program (or at least have been). How forthright they are with information varies which is understandable as some probably don't want to burn their sources. Some "insiders" on there have been downright wrong on their information.

Others randomly have personal relationships with players and families through school, hometowns, etc. They tend to get mocked for not knowing anything. Until CW or someone posts exactly the same news at which point have the board starts glazing him for sharing all this great intel.

It's a slightly less dysfunctional version of the free board in that respect ;)

Rasheed was our DL coach not our DB coach. Our DB coaches did go to PSU with Campbell.

But I agree, I am surprised Rasheed didn't get an invitation to go to PSU.
