Trae Young

This is still dumb Tuco
"You're dumb." Way to support your argument. It doesnt bother me that you think so since critical reading and thought don't seem to be your strength. Others here see it as well; go argue with them.

If I was an ISU fan, you wouldnt be trying to justify 39 fga, many forced from 30+ feet and massive amounts of turnovers.

He's shooting 40% from 3 this year and if you watch most of them are from at least a few feet behind the 3 point line and you are saying you should count his deep 3 point attempts as turnovers. Sour grapes because you guys couldn't land him and he's better than anyone on your roster by far

Young is a liability. Haven’t been a fan all year.

KU wins easily Tuesday.
KU isnt winning any game easily with how bad their perimeter defense and free throw shooting have been.

Wouldnt surprise me at all if KU lost in a tough road environment. All of Young's "trying to do too much" games have been on the road. I expect he will have it going much better st home Tuesday vs. KU.

You have said all this before. It's not any more relevant to include his full srason stas than it was the last time you did.

Young's "trying to do too much" games have been when OU goes on the road and he is 19-56 (34%) from 3 with 34 turnovers in his 4 Big 12 road games. Considering how good of a shooter he is, that percentage would jump significantly if he eliminated even half of what his coaching staff likely call in film sessions "bad shot attempts".

I never said he should be shooting 39 times a game, I'm pointing out you saying him taking deep 3's is like a turnover is sour grapes

Blah, blah, blah. This is boring me now. When you attempt to argue with a single ISU fan who has had the same things to say then I'll think you're making an attempt to do something besides argue anything this KU fan has to say. I wont hold my breath...

If an ISU fan said him taking a deep 3 is equivalent to a turnover I would argue with them

I will say I do think that Young is trying to do too much. You can criticize a player and still think they are great. He shoots far too often, and doesn't trust his teammates much, which leads to them losing.

Obviously a tremendous talent, but no one should ever shoot that much in a game. And, the insane turnover numbers not a good look, it screams trying to do too much. He's Russell Westbrook of college (better shooter obvisouly).

Having watched alot of his games, I see what you are saying. He does love to shoot it. However, he is also leading the nation is assists, so I struggle to think he "doesn't trust his teammates much."

I see his assist numbers as stat chasing, just like Westbrook was last year. Tight ballgame against ok state, he's got guys wide open, and his chucking deep 3s. He's also averaging near double digit turnovers, so those assists are almost for naught.

Could be, I don't know. If you're Kruger I think you walk a very thin line with the kid. I don't think you want to curb his aggressiveness, but OU has some other capable guys. Latin has played on some really good teams. McGusty and Doolittle were really coming on strong at the end of last year. Christian James is a talented player. The Manek kid seems to have some ability. This isn't Steph Curry at Davidson where it's you and only you. There are some other decent players on that team.

5.3 turnovers per game

5.3 turnovers per game
He leads the nation right now in total turnovers and has averaged 8.5 turnovers a game on the road in Big 12 play. CychiatricWard just needed to add "recently" to his claim of averaging nearly double digit turnovers.

Yes I'm aware of that

Lol

According to KenPom he leads the nation in usage rate at 41.5%. The only other P5 players in the top 20 are Ethan Happ and Colin Sexton at 33.7 and 32.3% respectively. That said, according to KenPom he is the #1 player in the nation. I think if he dials it back OU could be dangerous, if not they are just another 10 or 11 in conference win Big 12 team.

I always thought of Naz as a volume 3 ball shooter, and he took 8 a game at 38% last year. Young is taking 13 per game at pretty much the same percentage in conference play. That's crazy.

Which is why his assists and turnovers are so high

He's not the same player he was early this season. That player was fun to watch and could score while still making his teammates better. I'm sure some of it is teams getting film on him and scouting his weaknesses, but it seems his mindset has changed as well. He's pissy with the refs, involving his teammates less, and seems only concerned about getting his. The guy I watched early in the season was fun to watch, really good, and made OU an excellent team. The guy I'm watching now is easy to dislike and makes OU less than the sum of it's parts.

This, watching earlier was "Wow!" Watching now can be "WTF???"
