I wouldn't trade it for anything. That game was a great memory. Also, following that game, Rhoads ineptness has be shown big time. A few more wins just prolongs an inept coach leading the Cyclones.

Assuming all other results would remain the same outside of the swapping, I’ll set some boundaries:
1. Allowed to swap W/L only in games that were within one TD (i.e., games realistically winnable in real timeline).
2. Limited to Rhoads era.
3. Regular season only (swapping W/L would change specifics of bowl locale and opponent).
4. No more than 5 W’s. (Otherwise, you could trade that singular night for 3 straight 10-win seasons).

In roughly this order:
1. KSU 2012
2. West Virginia 2012 (1 & 2 combined and ISU is 8-4 that year)
3. KSU 2011 (without OSU win, ISU would not have been bowl-eligible)
4. Nebraska 2010 (bowl eligibility and a sweet, thrilling end to that otherwise dreadful Big 8/12 series)
5. Either KSU 2014 or Texas 2013.

I'd trade it for 2 more wins in 2012 to get to 8-4. I really think that was the year CPR needed to be better than good enough to make a bowl game and he wasn't able too. An 8 win season could have been big for recruiting that year.

We were so close to really turning the corner in 2012; a win over WVU in the last game gets us to 7-5 and would have sent us to the Holiday Bowl. We would have gotten a shot at a beatable UCLA team.

Maybe we could trade that win for a win against Misery in 2004 and Kansas in 2005 so it could have been ISU that got whipped in the Big 12 Championship game those two years 42-3 and 70-3.

The OSU win was the game that really put ISU/Rhoads on the national map, and it will be talked about for years in college football circles. Without that win, Theres no bowl game in 2011, and its quite a disappointing season.

Adding 2 more to 2012 really looks nice, but those extra wins anywhere else don't really change much with the perception of the program. They certainly don;t do jack to help us with the last 2 years.

I guess if we had those 2 wins this season, maybe I'd think differently.

Curious, who is talking about that game in college football circles? I don't think I've heard it mentioned outside of CF in years.

The Resume Killer thread got me thinking...how many wins would it take for you to trade the OSU game in 2011 for? Would you trade a win of that magnitude for a little more sustained success over the past couple years?

If I had to trade I'd go with at least 6 over the past few years.
.

You shouldn't want to trade that win for any thing. What should have happened after that win and going into 2012 should have catapulted this program. Instead, some very poor decisions were made by leadership and we're still feeling the effects 3 years later.

CEO's make poor descusions all the time and ruin good products and great companies.

This... The sporting world does not revolve around Ames Iowa and I haven't seen mention of it in any publication outside of googling the exact words ISU upsets OSU...

The OSU win didn't cost the Big 12 a dime. The Big 12 wasn't going to get two teams in BCS bowls whether OSU won or lost.
