Who was the woman that ran track at ISU for one year and then transferred somewhere south? This was maybe 5 years ago or so. She is from Iowa, kicked all sorts of arse at the high school level, and was thought to be a great get for the Cyclones. I was curious how her collegiate career ended up.

Yes, quite impressive recruiting class for Iowa State this year. McClain from Dowling, Lathom from Spirit Lake, Becker from Lisbon. Then toss in Jones from Kennedy (via UNI) and Iowa State will have a nice group of kids to compliment the every powerful mid and long distance group.
Being from the eastern side of the state all we hear about is: Woody this for Iowa, Iowa Hurdlers, Big 10 champs etc etc.

Sudbury has certainly recruited to fill the holes.

I admit, it’s been a (very) long time since I followed track recruiting.

But these are some really impressive times.

Wind speed was +5.6 m/s. The entire field of 8 finalists broke 11.00. That wind speed is nearly triple the legal wind speed for record purposes and NCAA/USATF qualifying. IAHSAA will recognize the record though.

Rico Gafford 10.6
Andy Brodell 10.65
Calvin Davis 10.73

200m

That’s never going to happen. Outside of Oregon, track is dominated by southern schools as sprinters, jumpers and most throwers don’t want to train in sub freezing temps half the spring.

I agree to a certain extent. The Hawks have a decent sprint crew, but we dominate them in XC.

Defintely an uphill fight.
