No reason not to keep this thread going, so many great songs! Here's another, with an all time great guitar solo, by Larry Carlton.

Steely Dan ~ "Kid Charlemagne"

Another S. Dan song, with some very great Larry Carlton guitar, again. Who would have thunk it? The guy is very gifted. Amazing.

Is it accompanied by an abacus that goes to 5?
I'll stop before I get to 5. Too late.:) I'm just a frustrated guitar player.

It's nice listening to one of the best guitar players in the world, L. Carlton! I appreciate him, and wanted to share. I'm sure there are some here who have never heard of him.

Love the Elvis Costello love and Pump It Up is his classic live show closer.
I'd take Riot Act from Get Happy.

So many choices in this thread that ring true for me.

Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying - Gerry and the Pacemakers

Hung Up on a Dream - Zombies

Good Time - Royce Porter and the Kounts

The Pretender - Jackson Browne

Jackie Wilson Said - Van Morrison

Honorable Mention
Promised Land - Chuck Berry

I never hear Elvis Costello and it seems every few years I’ll remember the album My Aim is True and listen to it front to back. I don’t think I’ve ever taken the time to listen to anything else but I love that album for some reason.

Too hard to pick songs that are lifelong but these five might work:

"What a Fool Believes"
"From the Begining"
"I Love to Change the World"
"Interstate Love Song"
"Plush"

"Stairway to Heaven"

I was a huge fan back in the day. His first albums through Imperial Bedroom are all pretty good. IMHO, the essential ones:

My Aim Is True
This Year's Model
Get Happy
Imperial Bedroom

After Imperial Bedroom I kept up for another 10-15 years or so, but life kind of happened, and I got less and less interested.
