Top 20 Returning QBs for 2026

Just my opinion, but I was shocked that Indiana seemed so happy to land Josh Hoover in the portal. He sucked at TCU.

Guess we will see if he proves me wrong.

Ok, disclaimer...this is from the Ruffino and Joe Show. Just some fun convo. Notice no one from PSU?

I thought i was going to have to read through this whole list, so I'm glad they had Arch 2nd. No reason to waste time reading this nonsense

Also, as high as some had Rocco ranked in the portal, sort of surprising he isnt in the top 20

Don’t know anything about the Cal or Auburn guys, but otherwise it’s a fairly solid list.
Sagapolutele (Cal) was a true freshman who was a Top 10 QB prospect coming in.

He was going to compete for the starting job as a freshman regardless, but the common sentiment was that Fernando Mendoza transferring to IU to clear his path was a win-win for everyone involved.

He was more productive than Mendoza was the season before.

Subjectively, he was eerily poised and clutch.

It is amazing Cal was able to hold on to him at all, let alone through a coaching change. He definitely would have been a top 5 or so transfer target if he’d entered the portal.

All that said, he is at Cal. You may not know anything about him after next season either.

It does not surprise me that the guy we had a qb the last few seasons is not on the list- he has too many throws that he could not make on a consistent basis.

No Raiola is interesting. I didn't realize Moore was back at Oregon.

A couple things about Rocco: first, remember he played injured about the last 7 games. So ranking him based on last year is not a valid assessment. Second, his ranking will shoot up this list after he notches win after win after win with that cupcake schedule at PSU.

REALLY? I guess your definition of sucked and mine come from very different dictionaries.

Raiola is the most overrated player in college football, happy he's not on the list.

What's interesting to me, the Michigan QB is 19th. They paid like $5MM for him? Hard to not say that is a poor investment.. how many good players could $5MM buy?

I think John Mateer is too low, and Arch Manning is way too high (shocking).

Arch Manning has no business on that list. He straight up sucks. He’d be a backup at Arkansas State if his name wasn’t manning.
Manning sucked out of the gate at OSU. He was pretty good most of the season.

Mateer will be interesting. Looked really good sometimes, but was pretty erratic and inaccurate at times.
