Tips for selling high mileage car

You'd be surprised at who might want it. Some people are big on the "winter beater" and this fits most of those categories. Even though winter is over, it might be worth more than you think.

For sure this. That's what makes craigslist so great.

Just be upfront with it's flaws and the condition of the car. I bet you'll have it sold in no time.

Side note. I had an old four banger ranger blow up on me last October and the scrap price was so low that the wrecker just towed it and scraped it and we called it even.

Could try a community college as well. Their automotive dept might want it for projects.

Donate it to a college or high school for their shop programs.

Ask churches around the community if they have anyone in their congregation that is in need and without a car. That $500 car might be a junker to you, but it could be the only way a single mom can get to work to feed her family.

Yes this. My dad had a '96 Ford Taurus which are now running into problems where the floor board rusts out really bad, and his was to the point where it was about to start having some major issues. Sold it on Craigslist, with a full disclosure. Posted it at 9 PM, had it sold by noon the next day.

Not to send this to the cave, but Cash for Clunkers created a void in the cheap transport department, so there is pretty high demand out there for these types of vehicles.

Its totally worth something. Put it on craigslist, or on the corner with a fair price on it. it will sell.
