Wild to have a game against KU where we lead wire to wire, and are just clearly the better team.

Got a little dodgy with the turnovers at times but it really was going to come down to ISU screwing it up vs. KU pulling through.

This is exciting.

And a little weird.

Those turnovers have been an issue for quite a few games in a row now. Could bite them in the ass at some point if they don't get it fixed. But man, once that does get fixed this team is unstoppable. What a fun year to be an ISU fan.
We're winning but haven't peaked yet which is awesome. Still some room to grow.

Anyone remember the 2019 home game against KU?

Fortunately I don’t see such a collapse occurring under this staff

Is not only fun to watch play but also fun to watch how much they play for each other and truly like each other. The demeanor between ISU and KU and how players interacted could not have been more different. Perfect example was the Chatfield dunk but it's so many times throughout a game.

Major shout-out to Watson to be ready when called upon and get some boards, play good D and have an absolutely monstrous block.
Thought about posting the same thing. The most fun team in ISU history. I thought the dynamic between Chatfield and Jackson said a lot. Both of them were hyping each other up after they made big plays. Easy for there to be a little bit of animosity when someone loses their starting spot, but not on this team.

What a night…
- Jefferson Double Double
- CUJO with 20 in first half
- Jackson with 17!
- We held Dickinson to 6 points

Someone else said it… we were a few silly mistakes away from handing KU an absolute blowout

I thought exactly the same thing. I'm not sure I can think of any team anywhere with more chemistry.

When were were up 12 early in the 2nd half. On back-to-back possessions Gilbert missed a fairly easy floater that he hits probably 70% of the time, and Jefferson missed a short wide open jumper. Make both of those and we're up 16, heading toward a blowout. Instead, we missed both, then Jefferson missed that dunk, and KU went on an 8-0 run and suddenly it was only a 4 point game.

Gotta clean those up. Though I think our response proves the mettle this team has in face of adversity. They weather the storm and they answer back. The great teams have a way of doing that

Even when they just play okay, they beat a top 10 team by double digits.

Past years they had to play high level to do that.

Just scary

It's so different for me anyway watching it in person. It was frustrating at times because we missed so many easy shots near the rim. Sometimes I think they were surprised they were so open, ready for contact and just missed. We should have won by 25 or better. Yet we had them rattled all night at each end. One thing for sure there are no easy games in the Big 12.

Probably one of the few cyclone teams I have ever had great confidence in to close it out in the last 5 minutes.

Usually wait for other shoe to drop

KU is still really talented, tough, and disciplined.

They came back and won handily vs UCF and Cincy - not near as good as ISU in Hilton of course, but KU isn't afraid of anyone. They'll probably still end up in the top 10-15, make the S16 or E8.

I just went through the final 4:53 when we were up 57-52. We ended the game on a 17-5 run. And this is far from the first time we see our defense choke hold teams in the final 5:00. Same was with Iowa and many others. It's incredible.

Learned afterwards why Jackson didn't start missed/late for a film session. Learned this on the post game radio broadcast.
