What about the huge pyramid Bass Pro Shop. Never been to it, but it looks pretty cool. It is just a little north of where I'm staying.

Crazy to think it was a 21k seat basketball arena before.

Absolutely. Other BBQ places get featured in the magazines, but Central BBQ is the real deal.

And located fairly close to the National Civil Rights Museum too!
Central is the real deal. And, there’s a location right behind the Civil Right Museum

Does anyone have experience using the Trolley system? Our AirBnb is north of Beale St. and it looked like an easy way to hop on for a half mile or so.
We like the trolly, but check the hours. They stop running early-ish, depending on how late you want to be out.

We set up the Jack Trice exhibit this morning at the National Civil Rights Museum.

It is at the top of the stairs near the bookstore at the end of the permanent exhibits.

FYI, they now sell tickets for entrance at particular times. That should greatly reduce the lines they had six years ago.

Note: Sorry for the bad resolution, but I couldn't seem to upload the photos any other way. Click on them to make them sharp.

Found another favorite from past trips to Memphis as I drove around this morning.

Cozy Corner BBQ.

It is nothing to look at from the outside, but it is a local treasure. When I mentioned it to our hotel clerk, she said it their chicken is one of her favorites. It is located just east of St. Jude's Children's Hospital. A sign on the door said they are open 11am to 8pm. The owner was walking around and working the room when we went six years ago. I am very much tempted to go there tonight rather than Central BBQ. Ah, the delightful difficult choices of being in Memphis.

Hope the weather is good for the team and all of you who traveled to Memphis.

I think Kue'd, Cornbred, and Smokey D's were all better than Central. I haven't been to Whatcha Smokin' yet, but a lot of folks think it's the best of the bunch.
Woodys Smoke Shack FTW... never forget
