Mr. Mayor said no.

"If, by the end of N5, the trich does not hit mafia, the trich disappears and the mafia gains an additional instakill (still can not kill a Bennett they had already investigated)"

So if you’ve been investigated, am I reading this right that you can’t be killed by mafia?

GAME CLARIFICATION(S)

1) If mafia investigates a Bennett, mafia can not kill that person. Mafia's investigation results remain within mafia/people are not alerted if they are investigated, much like people are not alerted if a doc protected them, or detective investigated them.

2) The trich gets 5 passes, 1 per night, but can be passed at any time during the game.

3) Mafia gets 3 recruits. 1 per night, but like the trich, this can be done at any time during the game.

Suppose mafia recruited all 3 nights. Suppose also they've investigated one Bennett. Then Lisa's perk is used up, lawyer's shouldn't investigate any longer, and they have one character they cannot kill. To rustle up a way to kill our exposed Bennett, they concoct a dastardly scheme. Questions would be, how many Neumann's would they have to sacrifice to real us in?

We hadn't found a single mafia yet, with next to 0 decent theories. I doubt they pull something like that. That seems like more of a desperation plot.
