The Older I Get...

I've spent the last few days worrying about tailgate food. Got some vegetarians coming to our tailgate. From what I can tell, all they eat is chips and chocolate. Maybe chocolate dipped chips? But other than tailgate food, I'm excited. First time I have had season tickets since I was a student a very long time ago.

Vegetarians? I wouldn't trust them (JK) Bring some carrot sticks and veggie dip for them. They'll get by.

I'm excited to see what can happen with MC and his first year...plenty of question marks and inexperience in key areas, but also some good talent to work with.

Getting some consistency, understanding how to utilize strengths, and getting everyone headed in the right direction could lead to some nice things.

Also, excited for college football to start in general. For me Saturdays are full of entertainment regardless who's playing.

Most excited I've been for a season in a long time. I'm sure we'll have some lumps, but the program has a swagger now. Exciting times are ahead. No doubt we deserve it.

Beer is vegetarian.

Problem solved.

I hate to complain too much (well not really) but brother who invited them to our tailgate says they only drink good wine and liqueurs. Kind of feel like the Windsors might show up. I think he just knew we would get there early enough for a good spot and he wouldn't have to bother. So I told him he has to bring booze for them. We are kind of a brat/burger/beer family. Now wondering if I need veggie finger sandwiches and petit fours. We'll make sure to bring the fine lawn chairs.

I spent four years watching Ivy league tailgates. Sounds like that group. Yuk!

Two thoughts if they're vegetarian:

1. You could always ask them to bring their own food if they're super anal.

2. Ask them for a recipie for food they'd like to eat, they may really appreciate that you're trying to respect their choices.

If they're vegan uninvite them. Bunch of weirdos!!

These...If they require a different menu, then maybe they should be providing some vegetarian dishes for the tailgate themselves.

By the way I'm looking for anyone that has room for one more at their tailgate since my group had to cancel coming on the trip due to a family health issue...your friends wouldn't like me though, I will arrive with brats, burgers and possibly ribs.

I was going to say if we went by a tailgate with petit fours we would stop and continuous tapper their keg dry. Two problems:

Last time our group continuous tappered a keg was probably 20 years ago and someone with petit fours at their tailgate probably isn't going to have a keg.....

And I sure as hell ain't pounding down some boxed wine...

Can you gently explain to them that this is more like a block party than high tea at Buckingham Palace?

Have some veggie options...tell them what beverages you are serving, and indicate that they are welcome to contribute a bottle (or five)

The more excited I get for the Season Opener. I have been bouncing off the walls all day thinking about tailgating and watching the game next Saturday, I have no clue how I will get through next week.

Also, I miss the ticker at the bottom of the page.

In case you're senile, that's a dog.
