The new mixed-use project south of 23 Twenty and just west of University Towers will be called the Edge. Looks to be very similar to the 23Twenty project. Construction will commence this summer. Will be 290 beds and 5,300 sq ft of retail. University Towers was also purchased by Gilbane Co and will be renovated, altogether the three properties (23Twenty, The Edge, and University Towers) will be offered under one brand that will be called "BlockOne". I believe there will be over 800 beds between the three properties.

So is this right across from Cyclone Plaza? Sorry, I haven't been around campus in awhile.

Right across from the parking lot that is just east of Cyclone Plaza. It's just west of University Towers.

I vaguely remember University Towers, but what is "23 Twenty"? Is it where Campus Bookstore and that revolving door of fast food restaurants was (last I knew it was a sub shop) near the bank? I feel like I'm in for a culture shock of new buildings on campus and in campus town when I visit in August, and I only left Ames in March 2012.

23Twenty is a new mixed-use development where First National bank and Lorry's Coffee use to be. The Campus Bookstore location is a seperate development called "The Foundry".

The Foundry will have retail, including a drugstore, on the ground floor, Iowa St. rents the second floor, and the building's owner, Kingland, will occupy the third floor.

I thought that was what they were doing at Welch and LW And the Foundry was an apartment building next to and similar to 23 Twenty Lincoln where CBS used to be?

Yea, CVS is going into the Kingland building at Lincoln Way and Welch. The Foundry (old CBS) has 7,500 sq ft of retail and so far Starbuck's and Barefoot Outfitter are known to be going into that (2,000 sq ft remains for a third tenant.

So this is where People's was? I think I may need a map upon my return to Ames.

No the Foundry is where Campus Bookstore was, catty corner from the MU, across from Lake Laverne, just west of St. Thomas Aquinas.

People's was after my time but I think it was where the Kingland Building is going at the southest corner of Welch and Lincoln Way. I don't think there are any apartments in that project.

Gotcha. I just re-read it and realize the poster I quoted said that CVS was going at Welch & Lincoln and The Foundry was where CBS once was. I assumed the pic included was the mockup of Welch & Lincoln, not Lynn & Lincoln. My bad.
