moral victories are for loser players. Who cares if fans have moral victories.

I will say that while I get thd point that old Iowa state teams would have folded after first half, I realized that I never expected this team to. That’s pretty cool.

Ok, on the fans part I can get. The team folding part, I will admit I had some serious reservations. Glad I was proven wrong.

The next 3 or 4 games will be very telling. I'd like to believe what my eyes are telling me: that this team is a lot better than their record indicates, but I say that every year.

Moral victories are fine with me as long as we compliment them with a heavy dose of winning. Rhoads' teams were full of close losses and moral victories.

The whole #ProveIt mantra is very fitting here. Don't tell me we're a great team and then turn around and go 7-5 or 6-6. Win the damn games and prove it.

I was watching with a friend who is mildly interested in Iowa State football and one who is not even close to interested in Iowa State football. I told them I'd turn the channel if we fell behind by 28 and I really believed that I wouldn't change the channel. Now, I didn't believe that we'd have a chance to win after we messed up the first and goal down 14.

Wow. Sorry I was excited that ISU came back and went for the win in a great game. You're an ass my friend. Man I would hate to be you..... LOL!!

yeah, sorry. This is what our fan base has become.

There is no way to not feel proud of the comeback last night. Most teams would have packed it in after screwing up the 1st and goal.

Look at the context of my response and spare me your lecture on the state of ISU's program. If you'd rather just lay it all at the refs' feet and pretend "we" didnt have any shortcomings last night, that's your prerogative. My point was that we'll have to shore up more than officiating to win our upcoming games. I don't think that's being unfair to anybody.

I've got 30+ years on you when it comes to ISU football and am well aware of where we are compared to where we've been. I don't EVER expect these kids or coaches to be perfect but it doesn't make me some kind idiot to point out that dropped pick 6s and double digit penalties are bad.
Ok.

I will say this loss felt 'better' than the BU or OSU losses...but perhaps I'm also just getting a refresher in ISU inventing ways to lose and am used to it.

The entire game I was just waiting for them to come back and play up to their potential. It was a fun game to watch. We pounded on their defense. I don't think we had any injuries except for Olson (he walked off on his own) while Oklahoma had many injury timeouts. I will take a moral victory and ignore the perfectionists. I am going to trust in the process.

Side note, I think Reggie Bush is a west coast turd with his arrogant opinions despite the facts. He is a waste of an analyst.

might have been mentioned already but Soehner walked off the field and into the locker room and never came back at some point (don’t remember when)
