Those tax dollars will be more than made up in the long run by the business generated from that team.
Losing the team would be a much bigger economic blow to the region than a few more taxes.
Not only the team but the building as well. It isn't like the Metrodome only hosts Viking games and sits empty the rest of the year. Fit the stadium with the ability to host other events and there's a ton of money to be made both directly in the stadium as well as indirectly with parking/hotels/restaurants.
