This was our last year to claim our son our taxes. Had to have that "University in Eastern Iowa" get him the 1098-T form as it was more beneficial for us to use him on our taxes than for him to claim himself.

Wife and I netted about $115 dollars, got back around $500 federal, but owned the state about $385. I was surprised how fast the fed direct deposited the check into our account, took less than a week, from the time it was filed to showing up in our account.

It took damn near a month for us to get our Iowa refund. Infuriating.

Iowa always takes their time depositing returns back to the people, I guess they can make a little bit more from interest on that money before they send it back.
