Tang gonna Tang

Just watched Tang's post game presser. He was pissed. Questioned his team's effort and toughness. Said they didn't deserve to wear the KState uniform last night.

Seems like they do have some talent, but they've got a serious culture issue.

Team culture comes directly from the guy who recruits the players and installs what it means to play KSU basketball. Short of year one, this is what it's been.

I know where the “culture” comes from.

Caught a segment on KC Sports Radio this afternoon where they were stating that the expect Tang to be terminated if they miss the tourney this year. That would be the third consecutive year missing the dance.

But then they went on to state the buyout at the end of this year would be $17M. I can't for the life of me imagine a school like KSU dropping that much to fire a basketball coach. Hell, that still seems like a lot to can a football coach outside of your crazy SRC schools.

So they brought in Haggerty from Memphis (supposedly the #2 transfer in the nation) on a $2 million NIL deal, plus a half million in incentives.

Putting massive financial incentives in individual player's NIL deals seems like a good way to destroy the culture in your locker room. Your stars would be more concerned about meeting their quota for points, rebounds, etc. than having their teammates' backs and winning the damn games.

I had a 247 account at the time and the stuff on their board was looney tunes. It wasn't just random posters either, it was 247 staff that were leading the charge. There were pictures posted of the stands and they circled where they thought the cheater was sitting. It was wild stuff. I can't believe that rose to the level of a national news story. I don't think I've ever seen TJ more pissed than when he had to address that BS after the KU game. Their media is a bunch of lunatics. I guess that Fitz guy seems fine, but the rest seem like real a-holes IMO.
KSU "Beat Reporter" John Kurtz also spread the lie online that Tang confronted TJ because fans were yelling racial slurs at the KSU bench. KSU fans were then pushing this narrative, and when Kurtz realized this was not true he tried to backtrack by saying "I'm not a reporter." Yeah, K-State fans were wild in that whole situation. They were awful and I lost any respect I had left for them.

Their On3 guy too. He was one of the main drivers of it. Continued to post stuff behind a paywall about it. Never apologized.

They did the same thing last year with Hawkins, to similar effect.

What's that quote about doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results?

Yeah, that is a great look flashing two grand in cash in you post. Klassy!

By the way, I just discovered that she blocked me on the Twitter machine. I can guarantee I never said anything out of line to her. Although I'm sure she finds any warranted criticism of her dear brother block worthy.
