Sweet Caroline

ISU fans thinking Sweet Caroline is unique to us is just as cringy as Michigan fans thinking Mr. Brightside is theirs. Both are played at a TON of sporting events and are about as generic "white people gettin turnt" songs as they come.

Our only special song is Juicy Wiggle. Accept it and move on.
This, THIS, THIS 1000%. Sweet Caroline is played at every single sporting event in every single sports venue. Hilton and Jack Trice is no exception. It is a song where it "entertains" / "is recognizable" for every generation in attendance. It is played accordingly for this reason and this reason alone. It is not signature Iowa State, do not for a second believe it is solely theirs. Don't believe me... go buy a $5 Iowa Heartlander Hockey ticket- you'll hear it. Go buy a $40 Minnesota Twins ticket- you'll hear it. Go buy a $70 Milwaukee Bucks ticket- you'll hear it. It is played everywhere everytime.

I think the Panthers' usage might actually pre-date that. At least with Carolina/Caroline it makes sense.
Yeah I read that. I think the Red Sox are the ones who made it a thing though. Or at least that’s how I always thought of it.

When we started playing it after games I thought “oh they copied the Red Sox”. I don’t really care, I just have never considered it an authentic ISU thing.

See a lot of fans arguing that Sweet Caroline is not unique to Iowa State. I am not sure who they are arguing with because I don’t recall anyone claiming it is unique to ISU.
