Yeah, Juicy Wiggle works great as a song to play when we go on a big run, the opponent calls a TO to try to regroup and calm the crowd. Its a song guaranteed to keep the crowd going through that timeout and ready to go when play resumes.

For basketball, it seems like they are trying to play it when Iowa State goes on a run and other other team calls timeout. When Kansas state called timeout last night it wasn’t really that type of situation. And when the students wanted it, it really wasn’t that type of situation.

I thought it worked ok, but the student section really wanted it during the game, The place wanted to go crazy and the just didn't quite find another song to do it with.

Last night, I experienced something that I never thought I would. The student section was chanting for Juicy Wiggle, but the Hilton Czar stayed on script by having the band play the school song. And the students gave thumbs down and booed . . . the school song!

Then at the next opportunity, the Czar played AC/DC . . . and again the students booed and gave thumbs down!

The Czar was redeemed somewhat by amazingly going off-script after the game and finally playing Juicy Wiggle to the exiting crowd's delight . . . and not playing Sweet Caroline!

Hopefully, the Czar learned a lesson. The energy that comes from Juicy Wiggle belongs during the game. Like in football, it should be used in the second half after something good happens as a way to turn the energy up to 11. It is a great recent addition to Hilton Magic.

P.S. Sweet Caroline is still the right song for after the game because of its sentimentalism.

It was marginal by the "standards" of when to play Juicy Wiggle, but the significance of playing for the Big 12 lead and the fact that the students were begging for it was different. I hate to say it, but the band playing the school song at that moment was not the energy boost that was needed. Free Juicy Wiggle!
