Survivor: One World

That goodness for karma! Kristina might actually have a chance now, but I don't get why Tarzan is so down on her.

I think he might be smarter than he's letting on. I also said that about Phillip Shepard though...

Funny that you mentioned Secret Agent Man. Every time Tarzan mispronounces a name, my wife says "Frans-Swes-Skwa" in homage to Phil.

Too bad they couldn't vote last night. I think they might have taken Alicia out. Having both her and Colton taken out in 1 episode is probably too much to ask.

Looking forward to the inevitable Heroes vs. Villians or Favorites show when Colton runs up against someone with a brain and a spine. However, in his defense, his hair looks better after 2 weeks on the island than mine does 1 hour after a shower.

I don't think I've even been so happy seeing someone go. Could not stand Colton. I found it especially interesting that he said maybe he just hated Christina because of the sound of her voice when he has one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard!

Colton is a ******* and probably my least favorite survivor ever. Also Alysia is a *****. This tribe needs to ******* go!
To think the first week or two I actually felt sorry for him for not fitting in.

I don't really understand why they dislike Christina, or why they had to get so personal with her. If I was on that tribe, even if I wasn't allied with her, I'd be like that is BS and grow up.

I know this is a little off subject, but I still wonder how anyone can take a couple months off work to do this and not get fired. Would most people's jobs allow this. I'm self employed, but my last jobs would have fired me if I said I was leaving for a couple months to do this.

I think most large companies have some sort of unpaid leave policy but obviously it would be up to them whether to grant such an opportunity. I'm sure plenty of people have had their employers say no and we obviously would never have heard about those people.

I've also wondered how many people have ever gotten fired for their behavior on the show. I mean, if they can fire you for stuff you post on Facebook surely they can fire you for acting like an *** on national TV. I'd sure want to fire Alicia right now if I was her boss. Can you imagine any parent wanting their child in her class now?

I also think, although I'm not sure, in addition to potential prize money they get some kind of episode appearance fee, much like an actor on a show. Might not be a lot but enough for their families to live on while they're gone. Again, I don't know this for sure but I think I've heard this before.

EDIT: I found this on the internet so it must be true. Also, the contestants get $10,000 to appear on the reunion show. That by itself would, I think, replace MOST people's lost income from their jobs.

I think this is why you see so many people with terrible strategies for winning but great strategies for not getting voted out early. You've got people like Russell and Colton who treated people like dirt and had no prayer of winning which is part of the reason people kept them around. Then you have the people who practically say and do nothing the entire time they're there and are just used as a proxy vote. Then you have people like Phil who deserve their own category for general craziness.

In this season, Colton, Alicia, and Tarzan have/had no prayer of winning because of how they interacted with their castmates. So don't be surprised if either Alicia or Tarzan are in the final 3.

Kat, Lief, and Jonas are in the followers group at the moment and as of now, none of them have a prayer either. There's still some time to change that but I'm not holding my breath.

I never knew this. Thanks for researching it.

I don't know what the total time committment is, but if the show is filmed over 40 calendar days, maybe round up and say it's a 2-month committment?

So if the first person out gets $12,500 for 2 months ($2500 plus the reunion show), that's a better per diem than a lot of folks earn. (thinking of the ice cream scooper from several seasons ago, or the verbal artist from the last season) So they're doing OK, esp. if you can make a name for yourself and parlay that into appearance fees, endorsements, etc.

I want to get on, get voted off immediately, and spend the next 39 days on the (I assume) all-inclusive resort over the next hill that they castaways ride out the duration on.

I never knew everyone got some sort of prize. That's pretty sweet for not doing much. Especially when you add on the 10k for the reunion show.

I'd like to get on long enough to starve off 40 pounds.

SOOOOO glad to see Colton finally gone although I would have preferred watching him go down in an epic tribal instead of medical but funny how karma kicked his butt this time. Him and Alicia are just bad persons in general, Colton already had it out with Bill and basically said he looked down on Bill because of who he is and what he does then how they treated Christina who hadn't done anything bad to them was terrible too. I'm sorry Colton, you can't yell at someone for sucking at a challenge when you didn't break a single target either.

The only way he could have salvaged any hatred I have for the terrible human being he has been on the show would have been to give Christina the idol and really mess things up that way. If you can't be in the game why not leave your mark and throw a wrench into everyone else's plans? I hate to say it but I doubt this is the last we've seen of Colton. I can see them bringing him back on another season since he's obviously been the one everyone has talked about so far this season. If they do that though I just hope they pit him against another former survivor villian who could put him in his place. How they tribe let him have that much power and follow his lead like a flock of sheep would I have a hard time thinking that anyone who blindly followed him this far deserves to win unless they take over the game from here on out.

I agree with you. I think it's inevitable they will bring him back.

I've looked at it. It's an interesting application.

A friend and I looked at the application for the Amazing Race, too.

The Amazing Race would be fun. You'd see so much. I'd prefer Survivor because I'm a bigger fan of it but I'd go for either. I don't think I've looked at the application for Survivor but I will. I've looked at Big Brother's before.

Doesn't the Big Brother one essentially ask "are you a drama queen that doesn't deal well with people?" I think I looked at that once, too, because I was curious how they found those people.

I don't exactly remember what was on it but that sounds about right. Let's get on the same season of Survivor so we can talk about CF on the island.
