I have not watched the premiere from last night yet, maybe will get to it Saturday. Figured since I usually get asked to start this thread for each season for those of us that follow the show I better get this going. In the meantime until I watch the episode...

Could be an interesting season. Lots of Survivor 'superfans' who I think are going to prove to be horrible, horrible players... one player in particular who seemed to try fitting an entire season of Survivor gameplay into day 1. Lol.

Either way, it's another season of Survivor and my wife and I love it. We've been watching since season 1 when we lived in Chicago and were pregnant with daughter #1. We'd order Italian delivery from Louisa's every Survivor night, I'd usually get the spaghetti carbonara. Delish.

Lot of people I like so far. Joe, Eva, and the stunt guy are probably my top 3.

@ImJustKCClone who did you get and Lew get in your survivor draft?
I'm not reading farther than this we thought it started next week, and we were watching a couple of movies last night (September 5th - highly recommend - followed by Munich - also highly recommend). Don't want to see spoilers. We're both doing our research tonight, we'll do our picks tomorrow & then watch it. I'll let you know then!

Side note. Munich is incredibly underrated and probably a top 5 Spielberg movie honestly.

Cast has some potential. Joe and Eva immediately got my attention. I think she picked the perfect person to share that she has autism and basicallyhave him take her under his wing. Joe has a bit of Tom Westman vibe to me who probably is my favorite survivor winner. Will be interesting to see how things play out. Sai seems to be playing too hard already and Kevin is another player that intrigues me.

The voting for aspects of Season 50 is cool. I like how the fans will have a say in some of the gameplay twists.

Our schoolyard pick went as follows (I went first based on him winning last season):
Me:
David, Joe, Charity, Kevin, Star, Cedrek, Sai, Mary, Kamilla
Him:
Mitch, Chrissy, Justin, Eva, Kyle, Bianca, Thomas, Shauhin, Stephanie

Both of us wanted Joe & Chrissy, neither of us wanted Stephanie or Kamilla.

So right now, I'm ahead by one. :D

Joe after just one episode I’ve watched is already somehow a top ten favorite of me haha. You can just tell he’s a great person.
Yeah, I like Joe too. I'm already regretting my Denny pick. He's really getting on my nerves. So is Sai. They are so overconfident in their own abilities, and I'm not seeing much social game out of them.

If I was on Survivor I would get stuck with Sai on my tribe and have to play nice even though I woujld want to scream at her. Everyone is rooting for Joe and he is getting a good edit. Something tells me they will vote him out since he is so likeable and such a strong man.

Yeah...that seems to be the way it goes. Maybe he can win enough immunities to stay alive?

Thomas won me over immediately when he suggested sabotaging Star's idol puzzle. Nothing against Star, I just admire a player in this age willing to be so cutthroat early on. He's my favorite, with Joe and Eva obviously pulling at my heartstrings and being easy to root for as well.

Not caring for Sai so far - I tend to dislike players who so overtly try to be the alpha dog on these tiny tribes so early. Rome was similar last season.
Maybe after wasting her idol, Sai will chill out a bit.

Why do people go on the show and play like her still? It's weird. Nobody has ever won playing like her. Like they are in charge of the whole thing. I knew the one guy was going when he immediatly started telling the camera he was running the game. Ummm that is survivor language for blindside at the end.

I'm on Team Eva, but she needs to be more strategic. My wife is on Team Sai will be gone soon. She seems to focus on who will be voted off in the coming trials. I cheer for players I like, so I have more disappointment.

Oh, during the commercial break prior to the vote, there is a lot of discussion in our house about who will be voted out. We've gotten pretty good at predicting, but there are still times when we are blown away by the vote.

The show producers, writers, and whoever else do a great job with the twists to keep us engaged, dont they? However, when you see scenes of someone being arrogant like Andy last season, you can tell they're probably going to be out.
I still remember R. Hatch running around naked in season 1 and the older military guy thinking he was nuts. My wife and I were addicted from there. LOL.

Sai will be gone soon enough. Playing too hard already and that never gets you far. Star will probably be the first gone on her tribe unless she figures out the combo on her own because her tribe sure isn't going to help her. I wonder how long until Joe has to ask Eva who else they can trust with her secret so he can protect her. The first time her name comes up.for a vote that is going to be difficult to navigate if he can't pull in the numbers. I know it's just a game but rooting for both to make it far to the point they both know in order to win they have to take the other out.

Back to the losing tribe, didn't like they voted Kevin out. The smartest play was to vote out Mary while making Sai think it was her so she would play the idol and keep her in check some knowing she is not calling the shots. At this stage the tribes that vote out players they need to win challenges are playing a short sighted game over trying to keep numbers you will need to make the merge and beyond. The less people at tribal the harder it is to swing votes.

Don't like anyone on green so they can all go. Liked Jeff ask Mitch about wanting help. I would probably be one of those wanting to help.
