Summer Roster Heights and Weights Updated

Datrone Young and Tayvon Kyle both now listed at 180
I’d add D.J. Miller now at 5’11” 190, Vonzell Kelly at 6’0” 185 and Jordyn Morgan at 6’0” 190, just among the likely free safety types.

Then Craig McDonald at 6’3” 210, Isheem Young a tank at 5’10” 210, Videl Edwards at 6’1” 210, and Malik Verdon at 6’4” 215 among the rest of the safeties. Mason Chambers is down a pound at 6’3” 205.

Cornerbacks Anthony Johnson at 6’0” 200, T.J. Tampa at 6’2” 190, Michal Antoine at 6’0” 190 and freshman Miles Purchase now listed at 5’11” 190 aren’t exactly Swiss cheese, either.

As if we didn’t already have a clue that ‘21 could be a monster season!

Isaiah Lee looks like an NFL nose guard. And that weight McDonald put on just put him on another level imo

Our starting linebackers are 255, 250, & 235. Hell to the yass.

D Line 3 deep:

Uwazurike 6'6" 320 ~ Lee 6'0" 305 ~ McDonald 6'4" 245

Petersen 6'5" 275 ~ Singleton 6'2" 295 ~ Robertson 6'3" 270

Peterson 6'4" 270 ~ Brown 6'2" 325 ~ Suttle 6'4" 260

Yea, the only position on the two deep we lack size it seems is starting QB at one of the top ten in the nation! :D:jimlad:

Not roster related, but Joel Lanning is no longer listed below the roster as part of the football staff. Kempt is still there but Joel is gone.

Did I miss something, or is he still around?

Defense is going to be STOUT. I wonder if Ezeriah Anderson gets over 230 lbs if he’s switching positions? DE almost with his size he’s already 6-5 230

Israel Taylor, a walk-on who was a receiver at Davenport Central, is now a 260 lb tight end.

Edit: Reminds me of the Dominique Dafney story. Was a decent player at WDM Valley as a receiver. Walked on at Iowa, became a fullback/tight end who played special teams, transferred to Indiana State to be a starter and just got pulled off the practice squad to play crucial snaps down the stretch for the Packers last season.

Vance and Rose at 255 and 250...Haven't seen starting backers that big since the Klein/Knott combo. Brock and Breece being 215 and 220 is also a combo of big backs we haven't seen recently.

Vance and Rose stood out to me.... I hope they haven't lost any speed at those sizes. They are both now bigger than Klein and Knott were. That is crazy.

But possibly the biggest shock to me was Uwazurike at 6'6" and 320lbs. Wasn't he like 290 lbs last year? He is one large human being. Him and Lee in there together will not be pushed around.

Enyi I want to say was listed at 310 last year.

If you have ever seen Uwazurike up close, you could easily be convinced that dude is considerably bigger than 320 pounds. That man is enormous.

I think some of our younger LBs will continue to push for playing time. I won't be surprised to see one of them take over the lions share of reps by midseason over Vance. He really struggled at times last season. That could also impact Mike Rose moving back to MLB. Speculation on my part

Not a chance a newby takes over for Vance, although splitting snaps I can see.
