Succession on HBO

Tom was inevitable. Throughout the entire show he was the one playing the game and he was the one who had the fortitude to do what was needed for power. Kendall was far too transparent, Rome just isn't built for it, and Shiv was never getting by Kendall. Tom was the one who could read people and play into whatever they needed, just like he did with Matsson at the end.

I thought the ending was very appropriate with Kendall, despite having more money than he could ever spend, leaving with nothing, Rome being able to just get away from the company he doesn't even want to be around, and Shiv clinging to power despite hating Tom.

I do wish Matsson would have lost too but I don't know how everyone can lose.

All of the kids were a bunch of ********. Glad that none of them are in charge. Logan stated so throughout the entire series, none of them are worthy. So many cringe moments and poor humanity from them throughout the show. Especially Kendall.

Shiv, really craves the power though, was willing to do anything for it. Her best play was to destroy Kendall at the last minute and have her child be under the power of Tom. I would think subconsciously she thought about that, if Kendall were in charge, her son/daughter would just be a nephew or niece that really has no power at all. Also, I just knew that Kendall killing a person HAD to be brought up.

Sham/"open" marriages run in rich/powerful families like these, apparently she is willing to keep playing that game by sticking with Tom. HBO could absolutely have a spin off with this plot synopsis.

Cousin Greg IMO, was playing both sides... broke Tom's heart. But even Tom has to see that Greg was in a no-win situation either way... has to respect him for at least making a play. But, he is a marked man now.

Looking at the kids only and considering actual experience, Kendall is the only one that had the experience needed to take over....but obviously the car accident and drugs are his two bugaboo's. Roman is just a joke and Shiv is smart enough but lacks the overall experience.

Tom makes sense where he ended up because he does not have the legacy name that would always be hanging over everything and he's happy to be there instead of probably always looking for more power.
