If canceled game is not replaced what is more likely:

1) finish with 5 wins miss bowl
2) finish with 9 wins (9-3 after post season game), and miss out on first 10 win season in ISU history?

I think 2. Still think it would take a lot of bad things for this team to only get 5 wins... some good things needed for 9, but I think a little less. Also, if 5 wins is a risk, I think a replacement is more likely.

Last week we had campanile smack talk from an SDSU fan.
Today, I saw an Iowa fan try to put ISU down by bragging about playing Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl last year.

What's the worst "smack talk" or trolling you've seen from Iowa fans this week?

So, I know playing the team out west is very unlikely at this point. But in the unlikely event that both teams have 7 losses, do you think they play? “Bowl game light”. I believe this is very unlikely, but also think this is one of the only ways that a game vs. neb happens.

There has been a trend lately of you guys making fun of the kickers and any media covering of the kickers. However, at the same time, you'll talk about certain other All Big 12 caliber players on our team and laud them for making the difference between a win or two for our season. With that said, for those of us with longer memories than a few years, it isn't hard for us to remember past ISU kickers truly making the difference between as many as 2 or 3 wins on a season. Therefore, why no love for the kickers? I feel like since we've had some good ones lately, we take them for granted.

My mailbag question is why would ISU be disqualified from a Bowl with a 5-6 record? Bowls have Conference tie-ins and all of them would be happy to invite ISU. So, why would an act of God preclude one of the Bowls from inviting us? I think it'd be quite reasonable for a lower tier Bowl to invite a 5-6* ISU who beat a 6-6 KSU head to head or a 6-6 TTU head to head.

I think it's much more likely that missing the SDSU win hurts us when we're 7-4 rather than 8-4 or 6-5 rather than 7-5. But I can see getting special dispensation for a 5-6 record.
