I think a few of you nailed it with St John. Not the most talented guy, but a scrapper and figured out how to win. IMO those guys make the best coaches in anything, music, sports, business, etc. The reason being is they really had to learn, adapt, and scrap to be successful. Those lessons can be passed on. Also why I think a guy like KJ was not a great coach. He was such an amazing athlete, strong, fast, explosive. A ton of natural ability. That can’t be taught or conveyed to someone else.

Also, in terms of recruiting, I still believe Metcalf has great name recognition and is a draw for recruits. I think he’s going to be a draw for the guys that want to come and really work their a$$ off.

Not sure how true it is but apparently my dads boss is friends with his family and his parents were unaware of him wanting to transfer until it happened.

If you’re talking Storr, he is not on the roster when I checked earlier today

Yeah, they wasted no time taking Storr off the roster.

I noticed that Anthony Wesley is no longer on the roster either, and did not see mention of that from anyone. He wasn't a starter but he was on the squad at least a couple of years.

Heard last night that Storr was in contact with the Paulson’s all season and they were recruiting him to Virginia all season. He will be transferring to Virginia. Pretty disappointing in former cyclones, and I wonder what ramifications will be taken.

I know I'm in the minority. But, Im still bitter that the paulsons booted downey the second they took over. Especially since they knew they would be gone at the end of the season too. Don't really care if Storr wanted to leave, but if they were actively recruiting him thats kinda shady.

The sad thing about this is that the one who gets hurt the most by it is Storr. Wonder if some of this intensified when we are at the Virginia Duals and they were with him n person. Not cool for them not to encourage him to give the new coaches a shot.

I understand shady stuff goes on behind the scenes with recruiting, especially when dealing with coaching changes. It wouldn't surprise me whatsoever to hear that former assistants were trying to recruit an athlete away at a weight class they could use some help. With that said, having Dresser (and many other people it sounds like) know that this was happening is not good for the coaches involved. Storr was caught in a tough spot with the coaching change and the relationships he previously had. I hope Storr doesn't get punished for anything, but if coaches were breaking rules and got caught, could be tough on them.
