Stat comparison ISU/Baylor

To be fair, Baylor's schedule has been tougher than ours on the whole (insert Austin Powers pun here). However, we have 2 games against unbeaten teams. We also fared better on the scoreboard @ Kent State than Baylor did against them at home. In the end, it's all about individual match-ups.

That said, this is a near toss-up game. Based on the line, people think Baylor is slightly the better team (which I agree) but we get the home field advantage points.

As I've said all along, I felt Baylor would win this game by 10+ without trouble if they had Griffin. They don't and IMO, it's a complete toss-up game.

Even if they "theoretically" beat Baylor (and they would easily w/out Griffin)....I'd still say Wake could hang with them.

So what's the deal then? If KU would easily defeat Baylor right now who defeated Wake - how can you so easily believe KU would have issues with Wake?

It's all about match-ups, have you studied those KU vs Wake match-ups?

notice though that he doesn't say Wake could beat Kansas, just that they could hang with Kansas- similar to how ISU hung with Kansas I suppose.

Statistically, Baylor sucks! Total defense is about the same for the two teams (slightly in favor of Baylor), however, total offense is definitely in ISU's favor. ISU is also better at converting on offense and holding on defense.

You have to take competition into account when comparing stats. Baylor has played UConn, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest. OU is better than Iowa, KU has a better offense than Wake and UConn but probably not a better defense and I would say Wake and UConn are better than anyone else we have played. With that said, Ithink our run offense will exploit their poor run defense
