WTF do these stand for?

Did you see what I did there?
House of the Dragon and Rings of Power.

As far as Andor, watched episode 1. I'm ok with the slow burn to set the tone for the show. Not worried about the action picking up later, as we know it will.

And yes, lots to watch right now. I watched the first episode of Quantum Leap, too. And since I refuse to pay for another streaming service, that has to be appointment television on Monday nights.

Watched the first two last night and the third ep tonight. It does take awhile but this show honestly had me hooked from the start. This is what Star Wars TV is supposed to be like. Shocking what happens when you put a series behind competent film makers.

Watched only the first episode of Andor. Gotta admit it is quite the slow burn so far. Assuming it picks up at some point, or at least I hope so.

By the end of 3 is certainly does. It's so weird reading reviews that praise the world building and back story elements while another totally rips the show for doing too much of that in the first 3. Can't please everyone I guess.

It actually took me a while to get through the first 2 episodes. I was watching later at night, before bed and kept nodding off. I didn't hate the first two episodes at all, it's just not the type of content to be watching when it's close to your normal bed time.

The third one definitely kicked it up and I didn't have trouble with nodding off.

I watched first 3 episodes of Andor last night. There's just not a lot going on. If you didn't know how his story ends, would you care about this guy at all?

The mall cops are almost as interesting, knowing how they probably evolve into imperial types - assuming the hats are foreshadowing lol.

Kinda of glad I watched ep 1, then waited a couple of days and watched 2 and 3 btb.

I agree. It's interesting background into the organized resistance and how the empire takes control of everything. The action is a little slow so far, but there's enough to keep your attention and I imagine it will pick up. The sets, special effects and acting have been great so far, too.

definitely released the first 3 because they knew it took that long to get things going. Im done with 3 and its enjoyable. its interesting how nothing other than the empire logo would say this is star wars.

Episode 4 certainly did a better job of introducing more recognizable SW elements. But to be fair, it's a big damn galaxy. Not everything has to run through Tatooine contrary to almost every other SW show and movie.

As far as action, I know it was kinda billed as a spy drama, hence the Imperial Security Bureau factoring prominently. While I'm betting there will be plenty of shoot 'em ups, the cat and mouse game, especially with the politicians is going to be interesting.

I've now gotten 2 episodes in the can. Episode 2 was a step up from episode 1, and I'm guessing at the pace it is going that episode 3 will be another step up.

Episode 1 is all I've watched and it was definitely slow but I like the look and feel of everything so I'm very excited to see that it starts picking up. Caught up on House of Dragon finally so Andor is next.

Andor episode 3 in the books and WOW, I loved it!!!! Like I hoped for, the series has picked up steam with every episode so far, and I'm loving what they are giving me. Internet pundit John Campea, who has seen through episode 6, says 4-6 are even a major step up from 1-3, so I can't wait.

Watched Andor through Ep. 4

Eps. 1-2 were VERY slow developing. I get setting the scene, but the flashbacks to Andor's home planet of Kenari took way, way too long. That whole thing could have been a single 3-minute scene.

But 3 & 4 were great!

I really like the concept of the Empire sub-contracting security out to others (the "Mall Cops" as @CascadeClone said :) -- good analogy! ).

One thing that miffs me off slightly -- why are there multiple female Imperial officers 4 or 5 years before Yavin??? We never see a even one female officer in the original trilogy, and everything I read in books as a teen said the Empire was basically racist, sexist, etc. I mean, it's OK to portray them as the bad-guys! I get after Endor they were more desperate, but still . . .

Totally a setup episode so not a ton of action. This show is so well made. It reminds me of what Nolan did for the Batman universe only with Star Wars. It's just really good film making. Well acted, well shot, well thought out plot and dialogue.

Yeah, its shocking how good this series is with so little action, but I'm cool with that. I'm ready for something different, and that is what they are giving me. FYI.... that young skinny dude on the team with the old school gadgets is totally going to die.

When that dude started talking about how he's young, hopeful, working on the rebel manifesto, etc. that dude is DOA.

They do a really good job of ratcheting up tension even within the group, so even if this is just a setup episode, it's still compelling.
