Really? They’ve setup the rebellion and presumably the final 3 episodes will setup the Death Star. The only thing that I find underwhelming is that this is mostly events that we knew about. So it isn’t as exciting as something fresh like season 1. But that’s to be expected being a prequel to Rogue One.

One thing that I’m wondering, is Luthen’s assistant Kleya actually Princess Leia? Otherwise, I’m not sure why she hasn’t made an appearance or been referenced at all. Or was this obvious from the start and I’m just catching on this season?
Kleya is too old to be Leia, I think. Leia is only ~16 at this point in the story and is or will become a senator in short order, though the Senate will also be disbanded by Palpatine soon, as well.

I’m only to episode 7 so it sounds like things pick up. But not much has happened other than set up the massacre. Don’t know that really needs so many episodes. And don’t get what Saw’s part was all about. Hopefully it connects.

S1 was just so good and knowing this is all we’re going to get, I had high hopes. I mean, S2 is okay but no where near S1 for me. S2 is good TV for Star Wars. S1 was just dang good TV overall.
People complained about the slow pace of S1 and "nothing happens", at least early on, as well.

Finished episode 8. I love when bad people figure out they’re bad people

I thought 8 and 9 were great. Right up there with the prison arc from last season. This show is so freaking good, I’m kind of sad it’s going to end.

I kind of thought that they could have done the massacre better and on a grander scale. I mean, like 50 people died in the town center? I would have rather had a recast Tarkin drop a ship on 1,000. Oh well. I think my favorite part so far was Andor getting Mon Mothma out of the senate.

Loved the episodes this week. They do such a great job of building tension in intelligent and unconventional ways. Not exactly "fun" with pretty heavy themes, but at least it ended with a bit of levity and exciting reveal.

7-8-9 felt like a movie. Them building out the entire Ghorman set plaza with so many lived in places made it feel so much more real when the massacre happened. I'm glad they invested so much in practical.

If you've watched through episode 9, do yourself a favor and watch Rebels, Season 3, Episode 18.
It probably doesn't even matter if you've ever watched any of Rebels, which is really really good, BTW.
I’ve watched all of Rebels, but thanks to your suggestion, I went back and watched this one. Thanks!

Glad to know Erskine made it out as well, and he and Mon moved beyond his duplicity as he was transporting her with Gold squadron. Brilliant his yelling, “She’s a Rebel spy” to distract and give Andor time. Andor shooting his way out… wow!

Might be picking nits here, but why wasn’t Mon’s husband and daughter even discussed in these episodes? Seems that with how much attention they got in the first episodes of the season that there’d be a discussion of getting them out as well? You’d think her speech would have put them in danger too? I would have thought she’d be concerned for them.

The same thing occurred to me, but I don't think it took away from this set of episodes. I just kind of assumed they are back home,.especially because the daughter is married now. If they don't at least touch on what I assume will be a falling out with her husband and daughter after Mon is openly rebelling against the empire then I think they deserve some criticism.

Perhaps an issue with her family is what will pull her away from Yavin (she's not in A New Hope)?

I think the show from all the way back to S1 is showing how she is furthering herself from her family. The last conversation she had with her daughter was her final plea to try and reach her. To me, the shots and dance sequence at the wedding is herself finally letting go of that life to completely buy into the rebellion.

Maybe. My point is she should be on Yavin when the Andor series ends.
They may need to address why she leaves Yavin in the 4-5 days between the Battle of Skarif and the Battle of Yavin. Maybe they won't. I imagine we'll see the rebellion find out about the Death Star (I'm unclear on who is aware of it at this point). Needless to say, I'm very excited for the finale. This show has been quite remarkable.

There can always be prequel to a prequel to a prequel.

Saw this on a Facebook in regards to the last episode and it made me laugh. It does a good job of explaining why this show seems smarter than most. It doesn't fall into a lot of the action sci-fi pitfalls. The writing is incredibly smart.

Bad writer: “So there’s been a lot of walking lately, right? We gotta have a fight scene…how about we have that ISB mercenary fight Cassian? And we can have this intense fight scene, she can get the upper hand on Cassian a few times, reminding people how desperate the situation is. That will be cool, right?”

Dan Gilroy, good writer: “Cassian has a gun. Cassian sees ISB mercenary. Cassian shoots ISB mercenary. ISB mercenary dead. Moving on.”
